. >> dan noyes first broke is the story. >> sources are telling me that this is the first time this hasthe history of the santa clara county sheriff's department. a captain got walked off the job on friday. she had her badge taken away, her county vehicle. captain amy le worked out of the elmwood jail. this all stems from a barbecue grill and ann arbor she had built using inmate labor. now le is out on paid administrative leave. she tells me that she doesn't have any comment on the record, and i reached out to the sheriff's department, and no word back from them as well about what's happened. amy le was a big supporter of sheriff smith during last year's election. she was in charge of the correctional peace officer's association, and she helped steer their support to the sheriff. at that point in time, she was a lieutenant. after the election, sheriff smith made her a captain, but now she is out, and i'll be following this up in the coming days. >> and as dan mentioned, captain le has had a long career with the sheriff's office. we talked to her in 2017. she was the first female preside
