i-team reporter dan noyes has the latest developments in the case. >> reporter: family members visitedn in central rome. a spokesman told me lea elder traveled to the city under the radar to see 19-year-old finn elder for the first time since he was arrested and accused of stabbing to death italian police officer mario cerciello rega. italian prosecutors say the teens were looking to buy cocaine in the early morning of july 26th, and when undercover officers intervened they took what police called a pusher's backpack to the meridian hotel where they were staying. when the so-called pusher called his phone still in the backpack, the boys answered and demanded 100 euro and a gram of cocaine for the return. you could hear the backpack owner calling police for help retrieving his property. undercover officers andrea varriale and mario cerciello rega responded and confronted the teens who said after they didn't know the men were police officers. prosecutors say finn elder admitted stabbing rega with this marine-style knife. they fought him off and ran away. at this police conference the com

dan noyes has obtained that police report with those startling images and he is here with the latest.e are the report. it says the cell phones also contain video of the suspects in rome and text messages to a friend back in the bay area describing events as they unfold leading up to the officer's death. both of the young men suspected in the death of an italian police officer on july 26th are being held at this prison in central rome. 19-year-old finn elder from san francisco admits stabbing the officer but claims self defense and he didn't know that he was police. 18-year-old gabriel natali from mill valley is being held as an accessory. he struggled and his partner ran off. natali's attorneys plan to ask for his release to home confinement. his grandfather has a seaside villa an hour from the prison. over the weekend investigators released a 75-page report with some photos, videos and texts from the cell phones. they show the young men with guns inside, outside, driving in
