fisher is in a tight election race with dan osborne. the times reports mr. rne star course, grassroots campaign has transformed what was expected to be asleep erase into a late breaking and high- stakes clash that has forced ms. fisher and her allies to invest millions of dollars to avoid an upset. mr. osborne is tapping into a well of discontent with congress and leaning on his status as a political newcomer and his background as a union labor to appeal to working- class voters from across the political spectrum. dan osborne is not a stranger to difficult political fights. a few years ago he led 500 of his fellow union members into the streets outside kellogg's cereal plant in omaha. the strike, which involved over 1400 workers across multiple plants lasted for a difficult 77 days for brutal storms and imported strikebreakers and the threat of summary dismissals, which drew the attention of president biden. the first contract was soundly rejected by the union then the second finally ended the walkout just before christmas. dan osborne's campaign has the endo

it would basically kill dan osborn's campaign, and so a democratic super pac affiliated with harry dunnapitol on january 6th testified before the january 6th select committee as well, that group sent out a fundraising text on behalf of dan osborn, linking to @blue, the official democratic fundraising platform, and it basically undermined dan osborn's message, that was i'm not a democrat, i'm not a republican, i'm a true independent. deb fischer's campaign saw that and ran with it, and said it proves their theory of the case which is that this guy, dan osborn is really just a democrat. he's trying to fool you into thinking he's a real independent, but he's not. >> carlos, few expected this race, if anybody, to be this close. what do you make of what's going on in nebraska? >> well, chris, nebraska does have a little bit of an independent streak. it's certainly a conservative state. you look at omaha, the congressional district that awards its electoral vote independent of the state. nebraska was for a time represented by ben sasse, a republican not aligned with former president trump, so
