cbs saturday co-host dana jacobson is here.. >> she had a lot to say. nice to see serena being open. williams is proving her voice is as strong as her swing or serve. she described the agony she felt after losing in the u.s. open, believing she was treated differently for her reactions than male counterparts would be. she admitted she couldn't pick up a racket and began to see a therapist writing, i felt defeated and disrespected by a sport that i loved, one that i had dedicated my life to and my family truly changed not because we were welcomed, but because we wouldn't stop winning. in her letter to osaka, williams expressed support for osaka's victory saying i would never ever want the light to shine away from another female, specifically another black female athlete. it was osaka's response that ultimately provided resolution for williams and brought her to tears, osaka wrote, people can misunderstand anger for strength because they can't differentiate between the two and told williams to keep on trail blazing. serena posed
