dani carlson digging into the business history getting answers if there were problems before wednesday. >> reporter: we looked on-line and found lorain county automotive systems has one open health complaint from osha that appears to be from an unrelated incident earlier this year. we looked into it carbon monoxide is an issue for this business before. talking to the general manager on the phone today he says this is the first time the business ever had an issue with carbon monoxide to this issue saying this wednesday they only had one or two people complaining of a headache before. we obtained records from the elyria fire department showing they responded 1 times in the past year leading us to ask if there were any signs of a indicative of a history of any particular problem there. this appears to be isolated to the carbon monoxide and work on the system for the heating and cooling. >> reporter: captain kevin sabo says it appears the work on heating and cooling system was the trigger for high carbon monoxide levels. >> they are picking up 400 parts per million. >> reporter: what does

. >> mark: dani carlson joining us. we have uncovered high levels of lead in berea schools, right. >> reporter: this is going off paul orlousky's investigation. testing positive for lead and two others with high levels of iron and after digging through some documents at least two schools in berea exceeded acceptable amounts of lead in their drinking water. berea schools had water tested in all the buildings by environmental analysis and management out of mentor. we reviewed test results two schools had higher levels. middlebrook a staff lunch room sink, two classrooms and preschool area sink and that is not used by the district. berea mid park high school. the music hall water fountain on the second floor and secondary water fountain on the same floor. the testing company recommended these fountains should be taken out of service. >> the testing company recommend fountains be taken out of service and the school district exchanged those fixtures, mark. >> mark: this exclusive investigation continues tonight in the berea

dani carlson went to the attorney general's special report. >> romona: there are specific guidelines but no new mandated training. is that right. >> reporter: right. that was important as i was looking through this. it says training is recommended for officers and nothing can be mandated without new funding and it outlines specifics that it recommends officers and agencies out to me especially considering the police chase leading to the shooting deaths of the timothy russel and melissa williams that the number of pursuit cars should be limited to two, possibly three unless specifically approved by a supervisor. the report also recommends officers consider how serious the crime is that the suspect allegedly did and decide if a chase is worth the risk to public safety. it outlines recommendations how officers in the dispatchers and supervisors should communicate during a pursuit and says agencies should decide in advance what type of pursuit policy their agency should have. another major thing, the group actually recommended agencies should have to send data about pursuits to the state

dani carlson has gone over every single page and is getting answers on what she found. >> reporter: here they are. all of the water complaints in the city of berea over the past five years equal more than 400 pages and more than 300 individual complaints. that could mean things like broken pipes or leaks, but they don't. i have gone through each and every one of these complaints and i found some patterns. of those more than 300 complaints, 97% of them were due to issues with the water. water that was allegedly discolored and cloudy and yellow and brown or even black. water that smelled like rotten eggs or tasted bad or people reported they had health problems the to the city's water. as far as the number of complaints about that water quality in 2014 the city received 43 complaints. that number seemed to spike in 2015 when there were more than 130 complaints and so far this year the city has reported fewer than that many. the where is interesting too. some streets definitely seem to appear in the complaint list. the top three streets reporting water quality wallace and tamarack. now, i'v
