[applause] principal daniel allen. thank you so much for this lovely location.se] so as supervisor avalos and supervisor cohen and we're joined by supervisor carmen chu as well. you know, i've had the pleasure of working with our whole board of supervisors and i'll tell you, all of them have been very dedicated. and you have heard the new tone at city hall. no calling names. no wasting time. we are on your business. and that's why we enjoy coming out so the neighborhood. we enjoy holding budget town hall meetings because the most important thing that we should be doing is listening to the needs, not making decisions in isolation, and then respecting our communities. that's what i want to do. you know me. i've been picking up trash for a lot of you in this district for many years. we've been out in mccarron park cleaning that place up. we've been down in sunny dale trying to keep things clean, safe. we know these neighborhoods but we also want to make sure we honor a tradition that has been long held in the city. we make decisions with our community. never in iso

karen martinez and her daughter danielle are one of the family suing the state and their school district allen rock union. >> if you start to lose your passion for why you went to school then if i don't if i go to work and don't do my job i lose my i don't know so why should it be any different. >>reporter: the sponsor of the lawsuit is students matter non-profit education reform group. also suing the los angeles unified school district. >> prevents school administrators from hiring and retaining most effective teachers and unfortunately forces school administrators to leave the worst teachers, handful of small handful of grossly ineffective teachers in our class ramp teaching our children. >>reporter: miss hansen is with the california teacher association. she says teachers are held accountable if they don't perform. >> in my district you are evaluated. if they find they have issues with the teacher you are put on remade yaition. don't pass the 6 evaluation that year you are put on dismissal. so the process does exist it just needs to be followed. >>reporter: despite criticism the school dist
