whiteout conditions expected in certain areas, and for all those reasons connecticut governor daniel malloyently holding a press conference in stating a travel ban goes in effect for connecticut residents at 9:00 p.m. tonight. new york governor andrew cuomo and new york mayor urging commuters to stay home work at home if possible today. both of those officials will be holding their own press conferences in the next couple hours as well as the new jersey governor chris christie. as for preparations themselves as i mentioned, government agencies have been preparing around the clock since the weekend. hundreds of thousands of tons of road salt thousands of pieces of snow equipment have been mobilized in anticipation of this storm. as for businesses many businesses we have spoken to say they're still open. they're playing it by ear now. that could always change once the snow comes down if it starts to accelerate and accumulate, but going back to tourists tamron those folks that are stranded here in the city, they can go check out a broadway show. we hear the theaters are remaining open over the

connecticut governor daniel malloy is holding a news conference to hell his citizens how to prepare. let's listen. >> we'll provide updates as conditions adjust. continue monitoring the media throughout the day for updates. recapping, this is potentially a dangerous storm with significant accumulation of snow heavy wind and coastal flooding. it is imperative that you have a plan in place to get home safely this evening before the heavy snow begins and remain there through the duration of the storm. the storm will no doubt pose significant challenges. that's why we are working around the clock to mitigate problems as they arise but we also ask that over the next 24 to 48 hours that our residents remain patient and get ready for the storm. we have been down this road before in connecticut. every time we have met the difficult challenges together. we're a resilient state and we'll get through this storm together. be safe and have a plan to look out for yourself and your neighbors. and with that i'll take questions on point.
