." >>> now to washington, where i'm joined by politico reporter daniel strauss.ing. >> good morning. >> now, bernie sanders, he's pulling ahead in west virginia with 37 delegates up for grabs. does another sanders win just continue to irk clinton's campaign here? >> absolutely. and the thing about west virginia is that in 2008, she won the state by 40 percentage points but now sanders is poised to beat clinton there. that's really a nuisance for her. it looks like hillary clinton will be the nominee for the democratic party but she deeps getting into these close contests and sometimes is poised to lose them against sanders. it is really a bother for her when she wants to get ready for the general election. >> and apparently, there's no sign that bernie sanders is going to go away. so this could be there for a while. >> exactly. if anything it's starting to look like he's going to be a nuisance at the convention and that's an issue for her too. sanders has vowed he'll take it all the way to the end. and he might even wage some kind of floor fight at the convention

. >> politico reporter daniel strauss joins me from washington. el. >> good morning. >> all right. donald trump and house speaker paul ryan are not exactly best friends these days. how will this republican infighting affect the general election? >> i mean, it's a big problem for donald trump. paul ryan is one of the most high profile and well respected republicans in the country. and the fact that he's holding back on throwing his support by donald trump stops trump from uniting the party or that's what seems to be happening here. >> is it really a problem though? at this point, we haven't seen any fallout too much so far, right? does trump need gop unity to win? >> here's the thing though. in the general election, trump has hinted he wants to raise large sums of money from big republican donors and paul ryan has control over those donors. he can shepherd those donors to a republican candidate. and the fact that donald trump and paul ryan don't see eye to eye right now is probably a problem for him. >> all right. well, how big is the fear that the

. >> politico reporter daniel strauss joins me from washington to talk about this. >> all right, so bernie sanders keeps winning some primaries although he needs to win a whole lot and by a large margin as we heard there. is he doing more harm than good at this point for the party by staying in this? >> i mean, there's a definite question about that and supporters of hillary clinton feel that way. they feel that the longer bernie sanders is in this race, the more he distracts hillary clinton from attacking donald trump. and the more he requires her to focus on the primary which she essentially has locked up. it's hard for standers to get the nomination at this point. >> well, he's going to continue on. he wants to barn storm california. will that help him turn super delegates to his side? >> it's hard to tell. the sanders campaign is trying to win over super delegates. sanders and supporters are hoping to attract super delegates that have either remained uncommitted or have actually supported hillary clinton so far to come over to hisside saying, listen, we keep win
