this is a photograph of a black cowboy and rancher named daniel webster wallace. he was born september 15, 1860 in victoria county, texas. daniel webster wallace lived along the cattle trail. he saw cattle being driven. he convinced his parents that he would like to join them. i don't know if you have a 13-year-old son or something that you say, he wants to do his and i will let him go. mike: some people would be looking for you. they would not be there to give you any kind of awards. that would be very bad. this was not uncommon. especially if you knew the rancher who was moving the cattle. he felt like he would be in good hands. webster went and made that trip. he connects with a cattleman named clay man. he had an interesting brand. it was a great big 80 on the side of his cattle. he becomes known as 80 john. throughout cattle country, people referred to him as 80 ohn. what he did which was not the average practice, when he received his pay, he had the clay man set aside a portion of the pay and not give it directly to him so that it would build up enough for h
