daniela chiaretti, natasha clark, tom chivers, and wolfgang blau. weather on tuesday's going to look very different, and here's why. this cloud here in the atlantic is pushing in from the west, and that's bringing with it some outbreaks of rain. ahead of that, though, with some clearer skies, it will be a bit cooler across eastern scotland and eastern parts of england. but out to the west, it's milder to start the day with this rain around, some quite heavy rain, too. that rain shouldn't last long. in northern ireland, we'll see a spell of rain pushing eastwards through the morning across scotland and northern england, but the rain further south tends to become light and patchy. most of that rain will have cleared in the afternoon, leaving some drizzle around some western hills, but to the east of high ground, perhaps some sunshine, many places becoming dry in the afternoon. strong south—westerly winds, very mild day — temperatures 16—17 celsius, quite a bit warmer than it was on monday for the northern half of the uk. but there's still rain in the

daniela chiaretti, natasha clark, tom chivers, and wolfgang blau. of a weather system that has brought some rain into parts of wales and is spreading east across england. ahead of it in essex, there has been some blue sky, but it is east anglia and south—east england on the weather front. although it is weakening, there is a chance of some splashes of rain for a time this evening before it closed away. ——clears away. behind it, the clearer weather has moved in. there are showers around and that is how things are looking as we get on through the evening and into tonight. it is clear spells and areas of showers mainly in the west, but some will push further east as the night goes on. it is breezy out there and temperatures just dipping a little bit lower, so more spots just getting down into single figures by the morning. for monday, then, it is a day of sunshine and showers, the greater chance of catching these will be in the west, especially here into western scotland, some along southern coastal counties of england, the heaviest places, a chance of

daniela chiaretti, natasha clark, tom chivers, and wolfgang blau.e. plenty of showers across southern and western areas. a lot of central and eastern parts will tend to stay dry, with a good deal of sunshine around. it's going to be breezy for all, quite windy in the north and the west because we'll be close to this area of low pressure anchored to the north of the uk. so you can see quite a few isobars on the chart, these weather fronts enhancing the shower activity as they move from west to east. and we're in a mild air mass, as you can see from the yellow and orange colours. so then we start monday off on a fine note across central and eastern areas, dry with some sunshine. there will be showers from the word go across western areas. these will tend to become more widespread, very frequent across north—west scotland. merging together to produce longer spells of rain, quite cloudy too. some heavy ones as well across the south of england. some of these could contain some hail and thunder. a few getting in towards the east on this strong west south—

daniela chiaretti, natasha clark, tom chivers, and wolfgang blau.the last week or so. heavy rain, squally winds, a bit of snow over high ground in scotland. so, what does the weekend have in store? well actually, a return to milder conditions, some brisk winds, and some rain at times courtesy of this frontal system that you can see pushing in from the west. but it is moving quite slowly, it's running up against high pressure. so there will still be a fair amount of dry weather around through saturday and, where skies have been clear, a really chilly start across parts of eastern scotland and eastern england. but that is where we will see the rest of the sunshine, more cloud further west, the odd spot of drizzle, and then, our weather front bringing persistent rain quite slowly eastward across northern ireland and into western scotland. it'll be breezy or windy wherever you are, but particularly windy in the west of scotland, with wind gusts in excess of 50 mph in exposed places. but feeling relatively mild, 12—14 celsius. as we head through saturday
