jeh johnson, daniel pletka and former nbc news senior producer, shanna thomas. welcome to sunday, "meet the press." >> good sunday morning on this difficult labor day weekend. we'll get to the political news in a moment. two big stories, mass shooting in texas and hurricane dorian. >> yesterday afternoon, a man fled a trappffic stop, hijacked male truck and began shooting. police killed the shooter. a white man in his 30s. i know we don't seem to know a lot about the motive or much about the shooter, what have you learned so far? this started as an attempted traffic stop. the shooter turned around and fired out his back window with some kind of rifle or long gun to the officers. this raining and chase shooting happened. somewhere along the way, the suspect hijacked the mail truck. he was cornered in this movie theater parking lot where he was shot and killed. we are learning about some of those victims including a high school student and a 17-month old girl. police haven't released his motive or his name. we are told he is a 30 something white man, matching the
