joining me now is danny davis. let me start with the question about the timing of the release of this video. we hear mcdonald's mother did not want this coming out in part because of fear of the reaction potentially. we hear city officials felt the same way. what do you think of the fact that this happened only a year ago and it's only coming out now. were there volualid concerns ab public safety? >> there's always valid concerns about public safety but those of us who live in the community and know individuals out protesting, we have been very proud of the discipline they've displayed and i think they're going to continue to display that discipline. there's a tremendous sense of injustice that injustice has been done and something must be done to rectify. i was part of a group that met earlier today with reverend jackson and a number of activist and this coalition decided that there are three things that need to happen immediately. one we need to replace superintendent with police and have a special prosecutor and

danny davis, for five minutes. mr. davis: thank you, mr. speaker. mr. speaker, i rise at that pay tribute to. mr. reginald adams, a dear friend whom i have known and worked with since the late 1960's. in 1968, hats was hired as the chief youth worker at the mile square health center. he had previously worked with boys and girls clubs of chicago. after having the title of community lee ason and employee relations coordinator, he was named director of community affairs at rush presbyterian st. luke's medical center in 1974. and held that position which he defined and redefined several times to coincide with what he was doing. rush presbyterian st. luke's medical center is a large complex and device corporate entity which trains thousands of doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel and has an excellent record of patient care. much of mr. adams' work involved outreach to the broad community on the medical center's behalf. over the years, he has worked with municipal, county, and state entities while at the same time developing and maintaining close ties

jennifer davis, who would eventually be sfnsed to one year in jail and five years probation for second-degree robbery was housed in the jail's female maximum security unit. her nickname was danny jen. >> jen, because i make them sin. i'm crazy. i'm wild. >> and what's the daddy part? >> something my wife calls me. >> davis says she was legally married to 41-year-old keena landra, who soon after our interview would be convicted of grand theft and given five years probation. she was housed in a minimum security unit. >> what's this? >> oh, it's my tattoo i'm going to get when i get home. i'm going to get a world and get gin, that's her nickname, and get, my world, my love, my life, my wife. >> i don't automatically request to interview a married couple who are housed at the same jail. i like to get to know the individuals involved, see what their relationship is, see if there's actually something that plays out in terms of being housed at the same jail. i thought, let me meet these two women and ask simple questions. when were you married? where were you married? and that's when things got very, very interesting. >> what day, actually, did you get married? >> it was in april. >>
