it happened at san ramon high school in danville. christina, what have you learned? >> reporter: a sad update here. we have just learned the 15- year-old boy has died at the hospital in walnut creek after he was found unresponsive in the pool. that is coming from a spokesperson from the city of danville and said the police department confirmed that in the last 10 minutes. we know this happened during the lunch hour today around 1:20 pm. sky fox was overhead after the incident happened. the police officers were focusing on the deep end of the pool, about 13 feet deep at the deepest point. police believe this teenager jumped in and was found unresponsive. they also say a staff member jumped in and rescued the boy and try to perform life-saving measures. the staff member was a physical education teacher who jumped in after the boy. the boy was taken to the hospital where he did pass away. the school was placed into lockdown immediately after the incident and a lot of the students who were in the pe class at the time with this boy before the lunch hour were taken to the
