you are looking at hemme avenue and danville boulevard in alamo where an old pipe bursts. as can you see -- i hope you can see this, the water is gushing out and tearing up the road. right now east bay mud that operates the water out here, and they have workers out here trying to turn it off. the issue is the handle valve they would use to shut off this line is underwater itself, and it's along the road somewhere and they are trying to figure it out. there's 182 customers without power. there's a creative learning center right here. i can't tell if that property is flooded or if vegetation kept the water from going in there. there's a house across the street, and i spoke to the woman off camera earlier that lives there, and she had mud on her and did not look happy, and she said her garage was flooded and she has been able to keep the water and mud from going into her home. so that was positive. one issue on hemme avenue, it appears this is the only road in and out of the neighborhood behind us. there are many homes behind there. we believe the people can get out on foot,

the trial of the danville police officer andrew hall is underway. he faces manslaughter charges for shooting and killing a lot of the latest in november of 2018 opening statements were heard yesterday. prosecutors say hotshot are related 9 times as he was driving away from police hall claimed the shooting was in self-defense. the contra costa district attorney's office announced it was pressing charges in the incident after hall shot and killed another man earlier this year. an investigation into that shooting is ongoing. turning now to our covid-19 coverage. the vallejo city council will hold a special meeting to decide if they're going to extend the city's mask mandate. that happens today. the mandate specifically requires people to wear face coverings at indoor events. the original measure was passed at the end of august. but now it's up for either an extension or it will expire the meeting starts at 06:00pm. we're going to have the outcome of that meeting for you right here on kron. 4 news. the cdc took down its guidance for the upcoming fall ho

near danville boulevard. you could see the work is earnestly underway right now. that water main break caused an eight ft deep sinkhole to form crews are working to repair the sinkhole and get water turned back on. for all the residents who live nearby, more than one million gallons of water poured out of that ruptured pipeline and as ktvu is, rob roth tells us it flooded intersections and also forced some schools to close. just after midnight, water started gushing out of a ruptured pipeline before long, the intersection of hemi avenue in danville boulevard became a lake emergency crews in the east bay municipal utility district responded. but they say at first, they had trouble locating the gig valve to shut off the water, and his night turned today, water was still gushing before crews could stop it, but not before a million gallons of water were lost, much of it ending up in the san ramon creek. the rupture caused a sinkhole 20 by 30 ft. in size in eight ft. deep. mike mascara runs the creative learning center. a preschool next to the ruptured pipe. watch the
