the big house fire in danville. we'll be right back. >>> welcome back to the morning news. we want to bring you an update on the huge house fire we have been following this morning. it is in danville. you can see by our map right there the fire was clearly visible from the freeway. it was causing traffic problems earlier this morning. we have heard from the fire chief out there this morning the fire is now under control. here is a live picture. you can see the white smoke. there is flames. the other houses in the area we are told are not close enough to be threatened. there is a preschool next to the house but there is open space between this house that has been on fire and that preschool. however, it is the monasory school. if you attend that school you might want to call ahead it could be effected today. we understand that the fire is under control. we did get earlier word that one of the firefighters was injured. we have a crew out there. we will continue to bring you updates. >> time now 6:57. indonesia has two disasters this morning. two passenger trains collided. 16 pe

danville. nobody was in the house at the time. more now on what caused it to burn so quickly. >> reporter: the fire in this danville home started at around 5:30 a.m. this video was shot by the san ramone fire district. >> it was pretty spectacular. a lot of flames. a lot of storage in the attic of this house. and it produced a lot of fire. >> reporter: that storage in the attic of this 4000 square foot home led to a lot of fallen debris sending one firefighter to the hospital. >> he was struck in the head and knocked to the ground. had his safety equipment knocked off his face. so he also had smoke inhalation as well. >> reporter: he was released from the hospital later in the morning. meanwhile, a montosorri preschool wasn't damaged in the fire but had to close for the day anyway. >> way too much smoke. the fire alarm is going off constantly so that is not conducive for a bunch of 5 year olds to get through a day. >> reporter: firefighters say the owner didn't live there. they say one person was staying at the home and made it out

jackie's this all has been following progress. >> fire officials still out here and this house, in danvillesome of the damage out here they are in mop up stage. this started at 530 this morning, somebody on 680, called in to the san ramon fire district reporting a house with flames coming out of it. when they got here they quickly turned it into a second alarm. it took 35-40 firefighters about an hour to get this under control. there are still lots of hot spots for many hours after that. they had a report it was under construction. they were sure some it was inside. turn so somebody was inside but got out before the fire officials got here. that person didn't sustain injuries, fire fighters fighting the fire sustained minor injuries went to local hospital with what was described as not life-threatening injuries. he will be released soon. there is the preschool next door, you concede the playground equipment. because of its proximity because this building smolders, the they decided it was best to close the school for the day. all 80 kids, were told to stay home today. from the fountainhead m
