. >> news 4's darcy spencer is live where crews spent a third day searching. >> reporter: as you can, it is a rainy, gloomy, nasty day here in washington, not the kind of conditions that would be good for a ground search of this massive park, so that search has been called off for the entire weekend. no ground search, instead they are using dive teams to go into the park and search the ponds. this is 700 acres a lot of ground to cover and a lot of ponds. police say it's possible the man she was with khalil tatum could have killed her and buried her body here. she was last seen march 1 and was in the company of khalil tatum. he was a janitor at the homeless shelter where her family was living. he is still on the run, wanted for the murder of his wife in oxen hill. last night police searched a room at the days inn motel nearby here in northeast washington where tatum had recently stayed. there was no word on what if any evidence was collected during that search. the search here at the park has been called off at least for today, they are expected to be back out here tomorrow, again, wit

darcy spencer is live in washington. what are the latest details on this one? >> reporter: we did just get a briefing from the lieutenant at the homicide unit at the crimes branch in southwest washington. he did not provide a lot of details, just basic information about each killing, he said they are working 24 hours a day to get the cases solved but they need witnesses to come forward to help them make arrests. in t since the beginning of the year, there's been 25 homicide, just in the last five -- billy harris found dead at 9th and decatur streets. andre mcentire was murdered, police say he suffered trauma to the head. and two brothers were gunned down in the 500 block of lee street northeast. the shootings happening just outside a church where worshippers were attending a children's service. on wednesday two teens were killed in separate incidents. 17-year-old jonathan adams was stabbed to death on halle terrace. d.c. police are asking for the public's help in getting these cases solved. >> every murder that occurs in the district gets a great deal of attent

darcy, what's it like out there right now? >> reporter: chris, we're on club lake road in montgomery county. as we pan in and push into the scene here, you can see it's still a very active investigation and here's why. the flames broke out around 2:00 this afternoon in an unoccupied townhouse. numerous neighbors tell me that the person or people who had been living there had been recently evicted and investigators are trying to determine, does that have anything to do with how this fire started in that's cell phone video -- shot that video, and you can see that the flames are just incredible, shooting up into the sky as well as some trees. now one townhouse, where it started, it spread to a second townhouse, that townhouse was also unoccupied, but there was a third townhouse that was also damaged, fortunately the people who lived there were able to get out okay. let's hear now from the young man who shot that cell phone video. >> we came up and saw the whole house on fire, the tree caught on fire, then the whole back is gone.

darcy? >> that's right, chris, let me tell you where we are. this fire happened on the other side of this church. because there are so many fire trucks and hoses, this is as close as we could get right now. but as you said a deputy fire marshall told me just minutes ago, that there are two confirmed fatalities, a little bit earlier, they were telling us that two people were unaccounted for, two people described as being older who did not make it out. in addition to that, a firefighter suffered burns here. heavy smoke and flameses tore through this two-story home on south langley street in arlington. i'm told some of the people in the house got out. but firefighters are still searching for two older residents who were unaccounted for. one firefighter's hands were burned trying to battle the flames. >> there were at least two explosions on the scene here, we have not identified what the source of those were, right now we have four fire marshals on the scene that are actively investigating but because of the extent of the damage, it's going to tak
