. >> daren, all of this is happening because of the severe wind in the forecast. what can we expect and how are things looking? >> it's the wind and the big drop in humidity, veronica, that's gonna play a role. 9:00 am wednesday, by this point in time, the wind warnings have already gone into effect. and the main event is really wednesday night through thursday morning. watch what happens from wednesday night at 7:00 through thursday at 4:00 am. this is when we're gonna get the strongest of the winds. those are 40 mile an hour gusts in calistoga, potentially 60 mile an hour gusts in the mountains above the valley. that's the trouble spot right there. and then the wind dies down by late thursday. but it's not only the wind. watch how the round of humidity really goes down. and you actually get to see the dry air squeeze all the way out to sea. you see that strong surge of brown that goes off the coast. by thursday morning, relative humidities, santa rosa, are at 20%. and that's gonna be worse in the mountains. single digit relative humidities. that red flag warning

. >> daren joining me now. this is all predicated on these winds. >> yep. >> and these winds will be howling through the evening. >> i'm gonna playis ahead to tomorrow morning. 9:00 am. look at the bright oranges and reds through the north bay area. in androd napa county. that's where it starts. that's why nap is one of the locations here where the power is going off first from pg&e. as far as the weather aspect of this is concerned, look at the rest of the communities throughout the bay area. we're not noticing much in wind at all. but the real concern sheer up in the hills. and it's really gonna be wednesday night into thursday morning. it's really thursday morning early, the predawn hours of thursday, where this is now a bay area wide wind event. and even though the wind speeds say 34 for napa, 36 in santa rosa, those are gusts through town. the gusts are gonna be hitting 55 to 60 in the higher elkayings of those nerth bay hills, and that's the real problem. by thursday in the afternoon, the winds will have

let's get to daren.be warm but the humidity is gonna be so low, important. >> another dramatic aspect of the change coming our way starting tomorrow. today was our day when the marine layer came back in and obscured the towers of the golden gate bridge. how wonderful is that? the towers right there. they're out now. but earlier this morning and the afternoon we had a beautiful deck of the marine layer come in. let me switch back over to the numbers. because of that onshore flow, we're 14 degrees cooler today in san francisco. 12 degrees cooler in oakland. but we did not experience as much of an influence from that beautiful surge over the bridge. livermore, concord, we went down 2, 4 degrees today. it was 90s again. look at the daytime highs. half moon bay down to 69. tomorrow's daytime highs, we are gonna get concord down to 78. average would be 80. in other words we're gonna cool everybody down tomorrow to average. and then we're gonna stray there for much of the next seven days. let me show you what y
