and and i guess that touches a little bit about my earlier question about old darity -- solidarity.we need a new philosophy that could mote rate people? -- motivate people? >> the $64,000 question. i think that what's really held back performance politics for the past decade is this idea that you fix things with policies. there's a problem. we have a policy, we have an rct score. that's what you saw in both the clinton campaign and also the warren campaign. and it doesn't sum to a politics. but the problem is what do you mean by that? so people say, well, you need some kind of project, things people can believe, etc. absolutely. if we think about the reformist projects of the 20th century, it's not as if the social democrats in sweden came out with a giant plan with multimedia trying to get people to invest in things. they basically said, look, it's very simple, survival and fairness. that's it, that's all we're canning for, and here are some things that we needed to do to our economy to become kind of normalized for everyone. that's relatively uncontroversial. i think went up too m
