darlene horton of florida was the only person killed in the attacks.know about her killer? nbc's lucy kafanov is joining us from london. what are investigators saying now about the alleged attacker's motivation? >> good morning, alex. well the investigation is still under way, but police say the early evidence points to mental illness of the driving force behind that attack not radicalization or terrorism. the suspects we now know is a 19-year-old norwegian national of somali descent. police don't consider that relevant to the motivation. he left norway as a small child back in 2002. we don't know a lot about his life here in the uk. but the london police commissioner saying that he had mental illness issues. describing it as a spontaneous attack where the victim seemed to be picked at random. he is in police custody. we do expect him to be charged formally later today. russell square where the stabbing spree unfolded the video you're seeing now is right in the heart of london. it's a busy area. this attack, of course, rattling the people here. and of
