i spoke to martin family attorney darrell parks, ben crump's law partner.th this interview mark o'hara gave to miles per hour. he accuses ben crump of manipulating facts, making up stories, victimizing george zimmerman to use his words in a smear campaign, and he said that without his actions, zimmerman would have never been charged. how do you respond? >> well, anderson, let's take our time and go through this, because it's very important. remember, and i remember when ben first came back to our firm, this guy had killed trayvon martin and the sanford police department were getting ready to close the investigation. and they indicated that they were not going to arrest this guy. and we believe whole heartedly that if you killed an unarmed teenager, you at a minimum ought to be arrested. now, mr. o'mara may have philosophical problems with that, but we're civil rights lawyers. when someone kills someone that is unarmed, that person should go into our justice system and go through that process. that is not a decision that should be made by one or two people.

i remember talking to my law partner darrell parks and how he said, we're going to spend a lot of moneyspend a lot of time and resources and at the end of the day there's no guarantee whatsoever they're ever going to arrest this guy. and we agreed his statements were probably correct but we went to law school to try to make a difference in our community, to try to make everybody get equal justice. not just people from one side of town, but people from everywhere, especially in our community. so when they say i did all of this, i think they overlook the facts, the 2 million people that signed that petition that said you at least have to arrest the person who killed an unarmed teenager, because if you don't, what message does that send to society? what is the precedent set if we let people kill unarmed teenagers and go home and sleep in their beds at night? i just think we have to remember what the prosecutor said at the very end. if trayvon martin and the facts were reversed would have profiled and followed and pursued and killed unarmed george zimmerman, what would the verdict have been

i just saw darrell parks who's become a friend through this. natalie jackson is a friend. mark o'mara is a friend. we have to all understand that justice is a process. it's not the outcome. we've all seen a very open trial. >> yeah. >> we've seen skilled lawyers on both sides. we've seen people give their best and now we're awaiting a jury verdict. so to suggest that, you know, it's going to be riotous i think is just so offensive and wrong. and let's just hope and listen, you know, what kind of memory would it be to trayvon martin for all those advocates for him. what kind of memory is it that other people get hurt, other people get killed in the event there's an acquittal. on the other side, if, in fact, he's convicted, then people have to simply understand that. and recognize that that's what the jury ruled. >> that's the judicial process. that's what people have said all along, including his family. including most people who have been advocates. if you want to say for the side, for trayvon martin's side, is that what they wanted was for the judicial process to play out
