a little earlier i spoke to darren bett from the bbc weather centre and i began by asking him how far waters and is picked up intensity. they sent a plane through it earlier today to see how strong the winds were and they said it increased to 215 miles an hour, that sort of order, that is a category four hurricane, a dangerous hurricane. you can see the dry spot in the middle, the eye, and we try and work out where the eye will hit when it makes landfall.
