let's turn to darren peck with a check of our forecast, a nte to the east e pay.ur own heat at in the 100th for in contra costa county. today is warmer than yesterday. let's start with air quality. this has been top of mind so for so many. a good story, coming for a close-up look on the different air quality sensors. majority green, a little yellow mixed in. there are moderate locations read this morning but be areawide, for the most part, majority, good air quality with an occasional moderate reading. it so you get to wake county where the air quality is unhealthy. moderate.unhealthy sensitive groups from most locations appear, largely to the fact it is closer to the source of where the smoke is coming from. higher in elevation you are closer to the smoke which is elevated in the atmosphere. not right here, the view from the bay, treasure island towards the city skyline shows a gray sky there. gray all the way down 880 been in san jose, even though it looks hazy, sunshine by the time we get to lay morning. watch the future cast clear out the majority of low-level

darren peck has been monitoring the air-quality. >>> it is improving but we do have a lot of smoke lingering from the last few days, but i will show you why and we are at least not pulling in new smoke and that is us from the high resolution satellite today. you can see the two culprits, the dixie fire putting all of that smoke here but you do notice which way the smoke is going? it is getting pushed out toward nevada and it has to go somewhere but it is not coming here but if you look at the high resolution forecast on this watch what happens over the next 24 hours. we will take those two plumes of smoke right there and play this forward over the next 24 hours and watch the smoke get drawn back out into the pacific. but not here. i will show you the high resolution forecast and the complete forecast for the next 24 hours which is a good news story in terms of keeping the worst of the smoke away, but to leave you for right now with where the as of right now air- quality readings are for the bay area, and if you come in for a close-up look down into the south bay, you could see a lot of green

meteorologist darren peck joining us now whether our air quality is clearing up. >> happy to say i've got good news. >> oh, go you? okay. >> it's short term, but tomorrow is the best day in the last four days. let me show you. these are the current readings. green fells you good air quality. yellow, moderate. and that's all we have right now. no orange on the map. and even closer inspection of the south bay, san jose, you're moderate, but you go up the peninsula, it's good. it's even good for the inland valleys of the east bay right now. and for the most part in the north bay. napa and fairfield moderate. these are the readings from the epa sensors. this is the forecast put out by air quality district management for tomorrow. moderate. that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be that way all day. take a look at what happened in tahoe today. that was the smoke and how badly the tahoe basin was inundated. and i'm going to show you the fire that was responsible for that. we'll look at it all coming up in the complete forecast in just a few minutes. for now, guys, back to you. >> thank
