we will start with meteorologist darren peck who has been tracking all this rain. >>> i think a good place to start is just to take a quick look back at how we are done. since we started this storm on saturday evening we picked up over 16 inches of rain on mount tam. san francisco got over five inches. san jose got almost two inches. here is live high def doppler. that system is moved into southern sierra. we are in the clear flow. there might be a stray shower or two which works through perhaps the east bay in a pop up shower kind of variety over the next hours. but it will be short lived and wouldn't be much. there is a chance for more light rain tomorrow. we'll look at that. it is nothing like yesterday. still, rain is rain. we will track it in the forecast. i will see you with that in a few minutes. >>> a live look at the pge outage map. bay area wide nearly 60,000 customers are still without power. that is an improvement. at its height 380,000 were in the dark sunday and now the north bay and peninsula are seeing most outages. >>> new, all evacuation orders lifted for san mateo.

darren peck said we can expect dry periods today and tomorrow.urs remove the dead leaves from your driveway partnerships and roof top gutters and storm drains and you may as well test those sump pumps. fremont is offering sandbags, they have three locations. you can gr to the city maintenance center, they are open 24-seven. fire stition five and also fire station number 10. they are asking you to bring your own shovel and there is a maximum of 10 sandbags per person or per business. all eyes are on that sunday storm. that storm will be moving across the bay area, publ dumping up to 5 inches of rain across the area. make sure you keep your eyes on that storm and get those sandbags and clear those gutters when we get to those try periods before the rain is dumped on us. >> water finally flowing into lake mendocino where the governor declared a drought emergency in april. it will take more than the incoming rain to end the drought. it can take a few more storms to just get started. >> it is how much water seeps into the ground and how much runs off.

urologist darren peck joins us with more on the air quality. >>> the bigger issue is the temperature. it got so hot we are starting to create some ground-level ozone. they extended the spare the air through tomorrow, though it looks hazy. if we look at the actual air- quality centers across the bay area, it is mostly moderate. there is some green in ukiah and the north bay, but it is pretty much yellow wherever you go, south bay, up the peninsula, the city. that one camera in dublin, it is good air-quality on the ground, but moderate in the north bay. that's the forecast for tomorrow much is like this. the temperatures are also not going to budge. we will talk about daytime highs, and i will show you how they take a dramatic turn coming up in the 7 day forecast with a big cooldown at the end of next week. jolt in the second time in as many days. a magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck about 2 miles north of san leandro near the oakland zoo a little after noon. around 7:00 last night, the same area experienced a light rumble 3.0 magnitude earthquake, with no damage caused by either quake. >>

meteorologist darren peck is here with us. >> it does not look that way everywhere right now.st happens to be in the perfect place for high definition snow. this is equal and widespread, but there is a very narrow band heading toward highway 50 coming off of the lake. can you see the consistent higher amounts to be read by the radar? the surface of lake tahoe is warm compared to the colder air above it when you get the strong winds, the humid air is able to develop into a narrow band of heavier snow showers. we have lake-effect snow happening right now. back here at home the wind is the headline. i showed you the winds for livermore already in the low 40s today with a 30 mile-per-hour wind. if we put some numbers up santa rosa has already been up to 41 and then it will start to calm down for the majority of us. it is going to stay windy in the mountains. we are only in the low 70s right now. here is how things will play out tonight. once we get past sunset, and the winds are call murder. mt. hamilton is still gusting up to near 40. even tomorrow there is still enough wind with

but we will start with darren peck. >>> it's almost going to look like sunday did when some of us. there is still rain but this is different. it is not as widespread consistent never ending. it is more spotty showers. it's stragglers and they will be around until we are passed 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning. you can see rain across the north bay but we've got showers down. this is mainly east bay hills here now. i have been watching this persistent band across 580, a break thankfully. places like fremont and union city, we've got issues on 880. we will hear from justin andrews in a second. as long as we are not getting rain that's at least somewhat helpful to the situation. we have good rain through san mateo. 101, you've got rain. keep that in mind as you take the drive on the san mateo commute up and down the peninsula. then there is good rain along 37 in the north bay. 101 has rain through novato. it's been consistent into napa as well. that band has been running over the same locations in the north bay. plan on that too if you are hitting the road. thankfully you go north on 101

darren peck is also tracking the fire danger tonight. darren? >> part of a much larger system that is actually bringing snow to the sierra. just a few light flurries up there. and back home, while it is still windy out there, it is start took calm down. the wind advisory expires at 8:00, the red flag warning does not expire until 5:00 in the evening tomorrow. and you can see the difference here. the wind coming through that part of the delta where we saw that fire continues. the wind stays about as strong in the mountains, but in the thrower elevations, the winds will lighten up a bit. by the time we get into tomorrow, this is tomorrow evening, we ask even turned off 24th majority of the wind in the mountain. but we have to get in about 5:00 tomorrow before we get out of this risk. to the onshore flow comes back on wednesday. that gets us into wednesday morning, and we start to increase the humidity levels gain, that will help as well. morning lows will be chilly tomorrow. we're going down to 40 in the north bivalleys. 42 in livermore. this will

. >>> we will begin with darren peck with a look at the forecast. >>> good morning. there is a lot of rain on high def doppler. it's light but it is pretty widespread. plan on encountering light rain, whatever part of the bay area you are in. plan on that being a theme, on again, off again, for much of the morning. we'll pick out where some of the more likely locations are. best bands across the heart of the bay at this point, through the golden gate, across the peninsula, a couple places which would not be experiencing this as rain on the ground would be in the south bay where you are getting shadowed. the rain is hitting santa cruz mountains and getting absorbed by most of the hills and is not able to get into the santa clara valley. that's likely happening for inland east bay valleys and the north bay. if you are in the heart of the bay, it's light rain. whppens, it stays like th the morning and into this afternoon before we get kind of a break. we are never really entirely out of this. in the middle of the day would be your most likely time to get outside without

. >> let's get right to darren peck who has the latest where the rain is. >>> north than right now in sonoma county is getting ready and we will see how it is tracking across the bay area and it looks good right now but mainly up in sonoma and marin and a lot better on the radar than it actually would be and this is not downpours and it certainly looks great but if we put this in the future cast and track it over the next few hours that line of rain marches its way across the whole bay area and that is that 8:30 tonight and we have this organized line going through the heart of the bay and that is when most of us will likely get the actual rain and then it works its way down to the south and by the time we have gotten to about 10:30 or 11:00 as far as the bay area is concerned that rain comes to an end and here is the best way to get perspective. how much rain we get? a lot. about 1/10 of an inch but that is still enough and measurable and it wets the ground and this is only the first one and there are four more of these coming our way and we will look at all of them in the complete f

. >> let's get right to darren peck whose tracking the high fire danger. >> let's talk about the difference between the red flag warning for the fire concerns and the wind advisory. the wind has just picked up over the last few hours so the red flag warning which starts at 11 does not expire till tuesday. this covers the northbay mountains and the santa cruz mountains. we will see gusts up to 60 miles per hour and very low humidity. that's the fire whether concern but in addition, this is going to be windy at your house. and pretty much bay area wide. everywhere on the map that is shaded tan are under a wind advisory. it's already started to get dusty in the northbay. the wind is already up around 25-30 miles per hour but that's going to spread over the entire bay area and that's what we will look at in detail in the complete forecast. >> kpix 5 reporter kenny troy is live in fairfax which is one of the areas of heightened concern and he has more. hey kenny. >> reporter: good evening, what makes this especially more significant is that, there are strong wind gusts covering a vast amount of

let's start with darren peck. he's been tracking the rain. >> look at the rain, happening now. over the next hour, a good band of rain is coming through the north bay through the marin county. then it comes to the city. tomorrow is different. taking a closer look, bands of yellow, if we watch this overlap over 45 minutes, you can see it in the city, the rain gauge, you can see for the next hour of what's going to come through. this is a good example of how tonight will go. picking up tonight, it will lighten up and you won't get rained on for a couple hours, then it gets picked up again. that's different from what's going to happen tomorrow. tomorrow it is going to be fairly steady rain streaming in on that atmospheric river, taking us through the course of the day. that's getting us into the overnight hours, tomorrow night and into monday morning. that was a long run of consistent, steady rain. when we come back in the complete forecast, we will coincide with more detail. we will put rain totals on the bay. we will show you the biggest concerns, wind and possible burn scarred

at 8:45, another look at weather extra segment with meteorologist darren peck.> i am justin andrews live at hemme and danville in alamo. take a look at what we are seeing as the sun is up. we are able to get a look at the damage and how massive this break is if alamo. we have been talking about this since we hit the air at 4:30. at any minute i am told crews will be turning off one of the valves and that should stop the water that's been pouring out since before 1:00 this morning. that's now six hours. crews say 180 or so customers are without water and hoping to have it restored in a few hours. an eight inch pipe shattered overnight and that's why we see this, hundreds of gallons of water over taking this intersection. water crews say infrastructure is old, has been there since the 1950s and the pipe was likely just flat out old. if we come back out live, there is a lot of repairs and clean up that will need to be done throughout the morning. the scene behind me will likely be here for several hours. >>> 6:56. time for a look at other top stories. >> big announ
