if there is not an agreement on the documents that darryl isa wants, the vote will happen quickly andnt it to happen so everyone can move on, it's not going to be a long drawn out process as far as negotiations are concerned? >> well, as far as everyone moving on, i doubt that's going to happen. you know, there is a lot of intensity surrounding this fast and furious probe, particularly on the part of folks on the right. i don't think if you walk down the street and ask random people what they knew about it or if they were worried about it you would get much response. but if you go into the chat rooms on conservative websites and if you watch fox news or if you are in communication regularly with the national rifle association, you would think operation fast and furious and the justice department's handling of it was something that was entirely outrageous and the top obama administration officials knew all about it and perhaps deliberately launched it as part of a broader effort to crack down on second amendment rights. so because of that, a lot of energy, especially among conservative

. >> next wednesday chairman darryl isa, has scheduled this contempt of congress vote against eric holders for contempt of congress? >> there is no basis for contempt of congress here what he is claiming is that attorney general holder is refusing to cooperate. the contempt vote would be a completely political vote. mr. isa has a republican majority on that committee. they have targeted holder for political assault and the contempt vote would be pure and simple. it's an abuse for political reasons. isa has been saying lots of things he has had to back away from during the courts this investigation, normally when there is some kind of disagreement about what documents can be produced, whether there is executive privilege, where there is investigatory privilege, those are worked out informally. eric holder has offered directly to mr. isa, look. let's get together. let's sit down. let's go over this and let's make sure that i can answer your questions about document productions, what i can and what i can't. and isa doesn't want to do that. he has refused to reply. basically because it would
