just to give you a few quick data points -- i think let trade, i think about datapoint to my think but they apply, as to what jobs created in the u.s.. when the we think about an exciting story, most of us have a picture -- you will see a story today about china. you will see a story about india. one of the data point all of us should keep in the front of our minds is the fact that today, if you look at trade, we export more to mexico than we do to china. we export three times the goods and services to let america as we do to china. my point is not that china is not important. my point is that mexico, latin america and the countries to the south have a dramatic and a substantial trade flows between countries. it means jobs in the u.s. and we translate it into the fact as we think about our economy and stories to focus on, labour is critical of all sectors of our economy. we can talk about ph these, but we can talk about other skilled categories and unskilled workers because this economy requires all kinds of workers have all layers of our economy. when we think about flows of human cap

the drought of 2012 is another datapoint in a line of climate catastrophe. mr. romm, the intensity of these fires, the frequency of the fires, how much of it do you think we should attribute now to this rapidly changing climate in the united states and on the planet? >> i think that is the question of the day, and i had an article which i would like to get into the record. i think drought is the most pressing problem caused by climate change. that the frame it this way. we know global warming makes extreme weather more likely and many kinds of extreme weather more destructive, and the analogy people have used is a baseball player on steroids. you do not know that any individual home run was caused by this their right, but the t.c. 70 home runs in one season, then you'd know this is what is going on, where the atmosphere is juiced. scientists knew there were three reasons that global warming was on to make wildfires worse. obviously whenever it is hotter, it is dry air. soil moisture is driven by how much about rates, how much comes down, and how much evaporate.
