thank you, dave. that update calls continue for the state to intervene in the investigation of the shooting death of a suspected shoplifter at a walgreens in san francisco district attorney brooke jenkins says her office will not charge the security guard in the shooting of banco brown. some members of the board of supervisors are now pushing for resolution to ask the state attorney general to investigate and the u. s. department of justice to look into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. the district attorney is going to look at that video and i think that there should not be charges brought when someone pulls out their gun in cold blood, the most certainly we need a higher level of government to step in the district attorney. it did everything she could to look at the evidence and make a decision based on what the evidence demonstrated, and i don't think that there's anything wrong with welcoming our california attorney general or anyone else to review the case. the board is set to vote on t

all of dave's old meds. as soon as he said he was suicidal, we took him to the hospital and put them all in there. if he really wanted to commit suicide, there was nothing i could do about it, but i wasn't going to make it easy. this all started off with a bad relationship and some test anxiety and stress in grad school and now i am a totally dysfunctional, highly suicidal individual. the only thing that's happened between then and now is i've been exposed to a series of very strong psychiatric medications. right now, medicines are given like candy. patients are seeing doctors for five minutes and they're given a pill. it's my belief that many of the medications that doctors are giving to patients today are more harmful than helpful to those patients. they want a pill that they hope will take care of their problem thoroughly and rapidly and most of these medications will actually do that very well in the short term. in the short term, they really work. the problem is in the long term they're mostly disastrou

good morning, dave. yeah.district 3000, teachers, counselors and librarians will be back on picket lines citywide again this morning for day five of their strike. now the teachers and their unions say that this strike is about more than just money. they want the district to negotiate other items. the district has said it's willing to offer a salary increase of up to 22% for all teachers, but the union says they want the district to negotiate with them on a list of other things. they called for things that they're calling the common goods list. includes among other things, things like equipment improvements, climate controlled classrooms, reparations for black students restrictions on future school closures. and a call to convert vacant school buildings into shelters for unused students. now another item on that common goods list at the union wants is the ability for teachers to share decision making power with the district by forming something called community schools. the district has said those common goods
