i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's wednesday, september 5th. >>> we begin with continuing coverage of the shooting that leaves a -- that leaves a chp officer, kenyon youngstrom, fighting for his life. he was shot yesterday by a man in a jeep. alex savidge is at the john muir medical center with an update on the officer's condition. >> reporter: i just spoke a short time ago with the chp spokesperson who told me that wounded officer's family members and fellow officers have remained here at his bedside throughout the my. he's in icu here and at last check does remain in critical condition. the chp identified the officer as 37-year-old kenyon youngstrom. colleagues say he's a husband and father of four. the chp says he's also a seven- year veteran of the force. he was shot by a driver during a traffic stop in alamo yesterday. a spokesman tells me the chp cannot release a whole lot of information about his injuries. youngstrom's family is asking for everyone's prayers as doctors do what they can to savely life. >> th

i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. >>> another young child is hit and killed on a busy novato street. it happened yesterday on novato boulevard and san marin drive. police say the girl, who was new to the area, was home when it happened. christien kafton has more. >> reporter: we're on the stretch of road where the fatal accident happened. first, now that the sun is up you can, you can see the trail where the middle schooler was hit. candles and teddy bears have been left here as a somber memorial. she was hit by a white suv. emergency crews rushed to the scene. the girl was taken by ambulance to novato hospital, then airlifted, where she was pronounced dead. authorities say the driver who hit the car stopped at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. >> it changes to 45 and then people really hit the gas coming out this way. >> reporter: i'm taking a live look at the memorial. you can see people have dropped off teddy bears an memorials and other remembrances. as you heard the neighbor t

i am tory camp. >> i am dave clark.it is tuesday, september 25th. >>> a break in at a pga substation in novato. one officer was injured while trying to arrest a suspect. we have more from alley ratsmith with more. >> reporter: good morning. they are doing construction work here at police head quarters, but we do have new information on the two suspects. they are both in their 40s. someone a san francisco resident. the other hasan pablo resident. we were there at 5:30 this morning when one of the two burglary suspects was arrested by a sheriff's deputy. he is one of the two people suspected of breaking into a substation located on hamilton drive in novato. this all started at 2:45 this morning. that is when security noticed two men walking around grounds of the substation. they called novato police and novato police discovered a hole had been cut in the chain link fence that surrounds that substation. just on the other side were copper fixtures and copper piping. detectives aren't 100% certain but they believe it is like

mornings on 2, i am tori campbell. >> i am dave clark. it is thursday, september 13th. we are developing breaking news. firefighters are making progress controlling the big early morning fire at a school. ktvu's elaine blanco is at the school. how are things now lorraine. >> reporter: the fire is uncontrol. i spoke to the principal. he said he is heartbroken. they he lost the administration offices as well as third grade classroom. firefighters are on scene and they are standing by for hot spots and the fire is under control. fire cruise arrive on scene here on terminal avenue before 4:00 a.m. and they found a fully involved fire. because of a light weight construction of the portables in the back of the billing, it was difficult to fight. they had to move from the inside to the outside. and fight it defensively. that's when the roof collapsed. there were no injuries and it took a solid three hours to put the fire out. he said they felt sorry for the third graders who lost their classroom and he is not sure how and when they can rebuild. >> we are on a tight budget. we
