i am dave clark. we are talking about your weather. we have your forecast. rosemary, is it getting any better? how does it look right now? >> good morning to you, dave. this morning does not look bad. i am tracking scattered showers. we have a risk for showers this afternoon. it is nothing like what we saw last week. the area is very stable. the sacramento valley and areas over the sierra have quite a bit of thunderstorm activity reported. for us, one or two lightning strikes that happened to be on the southeast i can the scu complex, besides that, we have been in pretty good shape. you can see a few scattered showers out there this morning. oakland has seen some at times. over towards orinda, lafayette, berkeley, we have some right here over areas towards american canyon. if we go farther well as the ed we have scattered showers in the forecast. we are not mad at that. in fact, we welcome that. the hazy skies and air quality will continue as firefighters continue the fight to get fires under control. temperatures will be coming down in the days ahead. that i

. >>> i am dave clark. >>> let's talk about the fires. the fire crews in the north bay still making progress in the battle against the massive lnu lightning complex fire. it is now 25% contained after burning almost 550 square miles. sara zendehnam is the here with the very latest on what is happening. >> reporter: there are some people that got to go home after evacuation warnings were downgraded. orders rather downgraded to warnings in sonoma and napa counties. this is only for people living and burned heirs of the myers fire within the lnu lightning complex and some parts of napa county. fire otheir progress, but say they dealt with issues on the east side of the fires throughout the afternoon yesterday. 7:00 last night, the lnu lightning complex has burned nearly 550 square miles, and is 25% contained. 908 buildings are destroyed. 248 are damage. more than 30,000 are threatened. six people have died including a pge worker. there's a lot of work to be done. any evacuation orders remain in place. if you get to go back to your property,

i am dave clark. >> i am claudine wong, pam cook is off this evening. it is august 19, what a busy wednesday it is. steve paulson has not had a break between the lightning, the thunder, the heat and now the fires that were caused by the lightning. it has been a long several days, steve. >> it has, it goes back six days now. the past six days, yeah. inland areas, this will be day six of 100 degrees or higher. this started on the 13th. it will continue today and tomorrow. there may be signs of relief inland, but it will be 90s and 100s. the cousin that they are going down a little bit. the fires are so intense, somebody show up on satellite images, infrared images. 60s on the temperatures, santa rosa is 62. livermore is 75. oakland is at 67. hazy, hot, humid, ashes being reported in san francisco as well. cooling on the bay, the day has been trending down. 61 degrees with smoke and haze, if you're taking a morning run, i have had reports of ash falling in the city. besides that, it will be a very tough, hot, firefighting day. it looks a little bit cooler
