>> because, because she liked it. >> that is dave franco in the little hours. is he joining us with aubrey plaza and jeff baena, the director of the film. some people understand this was an outline of the decameron story you made. and then it has been described as improvisation. but you as a director clearly shaped the film and the direction and the narrative. so how does that work? you as a director with a strong point of view, and outlined in improv. >> i think improve vacation is a really big generic term that is a spectrum. so there are movies where people straight up don't know what the scene is before they get into it. and then i think my approach is a little bit more mannered. so the line is was detailed and broke down what people were saying so it wasn't one sentence line, it was spelled out what each person was saying. i didn't want the actual lines written for them. i wanted it to be in their own words. so for the first like. >> why? >> there is something that kind of feels con triefed, i feel like, when the actors are forced to say certain lines that

. >> that was dave franco in the little hours. he is joining me with aubrey plaza.people understand that this was an outline of the story you made and it has been described as improvisation. you as a director clearly shaped the direction and the narrative. how does that work if you as a director have an outline of an improv? i think it is a vague, generic term. those ones were people don't know the scene until the end of it, i think my approach is a little more mannered. it did break down what people are saying. it wasn't like one sentence pursing, it spelled out what he's person was saying. i didn't want the actual lines written for them. there is something that feels contrived when actors are forced to say certain lines. personally try really hard to make the dialogue written in people arethat trailing off and there is overlapping dialogue. i realized a faster way of doing having the actors inspired to say their lines. having a little bit of the unknown added to it and so when they say there lines and responses, they are not anticipating and waiting for finish, i
