. >> reporter: dave snyder helps coordinator emergency preparedness in the nation's capital. >> the public can play a critical role here. if you see something, say something. >> reporter: even with increased patrols, the u.s. has not raised the terror alert level due to the credible threat. >> lisa: coming up at 6:00, we're live at orlando international airport with how security is changing there. >> ginger: deputies have officially recommended a misdemeanor charge for the mom of a 4-year-old boy who got ahold of her handgun and shot her in the back with it. we first told you about this incident when it happened earlier this month. investigators say jayme gill put the loaded gun under the front seat of her pickup truck. but her son recently figured out how to unbuckle himself from her car seat. that's when they say he picked fired through the front seat, hitting his mom in the back. now that the investigation is complete, the putnam county sheriff says she should be charged with allowing a child to access a gun. it is still up to prosecutors to decide whether to actually file the charge. >
