it's back to reality for some holiday travelers and kron. 4 meteorologist dave spahr is here with ourek forecast 8. >> we're looking at the fog to come back again for tonight. we're kind of enjoying this little nice. many weather pattern of cooler temperatures and more of that marine layer all we have nice and thick to greet us tomorrow morning. mixing out for most areas before noon, although the be some stubborn spots around the coast and near water world will linger a little later, live shot for you from u c berkeley. there you can see the east bay shoreline all lit up nice blue skies, blue bay. 2.88 at this hour. now antioch 84 livermore concord at 8376 santa rosa. but still some cool 70's hugging the east bay shoreline 63 san francisco in 75. meanwhile, for san jose. we have the winds will coming out of the west. and again, we'll be in this pattern probably for next about 48 hours or so watching that in future cast for. again, it's the fog comes back for tonight with some coastal drizzle at not just san francisco but along the coast and up in the north bay too. next is out for the

things are changing on the weather front, though kron 4 meteorologist dave spahr is here. dave, i know we're in for another little heat wave. coming up. it another he spike. you got that good well, and this is a live shot coming in now from half moon bay. you saw the golden gate bridge was pretty clear, but the fog already in place. you can see here. >> along the coast temperatures still moving no inland 88 for antioch, although somewhat reduced as we can see, concord and livermore just barely into the lower 80's, a santa rosa 78 is at. and meanwhile, around the perimeter of the base still have quite a bit of 60's and some lower 70's. this is actually a little cooler than we were this time from yesterday by a couple of degrees. again will be closing that gap later this week. there are the onshore winds checking in bringing with it more of the overnight fog to greet us for tomorrow morning which coverage area pretty typical that we've seen. i suspect we'll see. again this tomorrow night into thursday a little bit going on around the immediate bay while temperatures really st

. >> kron 4 meteorologist dave spahr joins us with the days. hey, good afternoon, size and everybody. you can see there from that picture there. this is the little bit of blue. hang on just a bit as this fog makes its return for the overnight program. but those winds. >> all loyally out of the west. the typical scenario we get. we're getting inland heating still the contrast of thermal gradient provides a strong onshore winds at aork there kind of chilly at the coast is this is a shot from half moon bay in those fog clouds been around just about all day today. but it's a decent trade off, though, compared to what we could have had with this monsoon stuff which has now receded going back in history from this morning. a little bit late this morning. this fog had trouble clearing for san francisco and a little bit along the east bay shoreline in southern marin. taking a look at the wide perspective. this is where the monsoon is nicely contain because of the slow in the northwest. this providing a little bit of a shield and that's going to the case

but first we want to give you a check of your forecast kron 4 meteorologist dave spahr standing by with a look. dave, it was pretty cool. last weekend. what are we looking at this weekend. pretty much kind of business as usual. no. well, you know, you're starting off in the morning, fog and such will see the sunshine in the afternoon. that is for today. tomorrow, this to be a little bit more tricky. >> as we have a couple little different elements in which to play with. yes, some elements will be talking a lot about could see potentially some dry thunder showers come across the bay area over the course of tomorrow. tomorrow night and through monday. so that's something to bear some watching. but for today it looks to be pretty good. we have that morning fog again at the coast and around the immediate bay. that's the scenario. we mix that out. we'll go back to mostly sunny. here is the golden gate bridge. you can see the fog is starting to now lift up above that hours. however, sometimes it sinks a little bit as it starts its mixing process temperatures pretty controlled in the mid to up

dave spahr has a little bit more details on the red flag warning. erstorms lot going on in the atmosphere today. dave. >> and if you don't have the clocks that are home that are set now you have no excuse? good good morning, everybody. now they're all in queue here going on here. we've got this red flag warning because not so much winds going on. that's typically we have here. this is because of dry lightning. it's the monsoon that's kicking up here. and this is moisture bubbling up from the southeast. from our perspective, from the u.s. southwest. here's the track of it right now as we speak. this is live radar down in socal. and this is the left over showers and thunder showers that they had from yesterday. now being early in the day for everybody here in the west coast. therefore there's not a lot of energy in the atmosphere and yet you can see this collection of rain. a nice collection out to sea there and that's only migrating up towards the north for now. not much going on. you'll see some of those pasty white skies start to build a little bit

kron 4 meteorologist dave spahr joins us more on on that fog day.'s the crazy scene out there. >> yeah. and that's good news that we have that because that keeps the atmosphere stable a we had this cloud cover came overhead. it was the monsoon clouds we talk about what's hard to miss that fog out of the clouds in place like that, you don't have the energy of blood below. you don't get the monsoon to do anything. so relatively modest affair. we had today. good news to keep that energy down. 83 antioch 86 for livermore. we're getting some clearing in the southern end of the bay as we speak son as a few hours of daylight. still to go here now for heating 74 up to hayward and meanwhile, to the north bay were in some 60's and the 70's were a lot of those fog clouds been hiding out for today. and also we're getting a little rain up in the news hills up in the north bay, particularly tonight, 57 san francisco clouds will redevelop along with the fog hanging out there. 59 oakland 63 san jose calling and variable clouds for that. later overlap of the monsoon

it's time for another check of our weather forecast with a chronic meteorologist dave spahr. dave in the east bay yesterday. i was just waiting and praying for those random bursts of wind. i'm hoping that people get a little bit of those conditions at some point today. well, we are getting substantial happen around the immediate bay. but those folks weren't into the advisory zone at any rate. but we are seeing numbers. even the santa clara valley. they will fall a little bit from yesterday, but east. >> they and those inland yes, it will be lower, but it's still going to be pretty lofty going on for today. we have our traditional fog joining us this morning, as was the case from yesterday. so right above us. the temperatures are 80 something degrees. when you get up there about a 1000 feet or so. it's 80 something degrees. all there all night. it didn't really change. but this marine layer because it's cold air dense came right across the bay. typical fashion. we tend get a lot of times in the summer and it's still hanging out here clouding up as you will notice the golden gat

and dave spahr has your weather forecast. now, is having a lot of trouble getting out there because like you go about a 1000 feet in the atmosphere in the you know, guess what, it's in the 80's up there. so it's kind of hard to get some buoyancy to get this air to rise. also very dry up there as we need some mixing and buoyancy. so it may take a little longer in order to do that. but given our 2 we're already starting to see the shrubbery show up here, but still not yet to the east bay shoreline is still kind of covered in all of that, which we see run the golden gate bridge too temperature. check. how are going right now. most readings in the 60's over a good chunk of the bay 73 for antioch here up to the north bay, mostly 60's 59 santa rosa at this hour. so our players still much the same back side of this high. so we continue to see the flare up of those showers and thunder showers in the sierra. they have a red flag or i'm i'm so used to saying that a flash flood watch at this point. it probably won't see one tomorrow beca

we've got dave spahr in the weather center with more on our forecast for today and also pick ahead of. good morning, dave. that will do good morning, james and darya. good morning, everybody. live from the nor cal honda weather center. and for this weekend and beyond. the big thing to look out for is what the impacts will be of we know are getting moisture and mid layers and upper layers of the atmosphere. what second materialize into that's being worked on the shot for right now. well, we have that sunshine peering through as we see the fog kind of that parade a way that this that tends to do this time of day. we have 3 major features to look for an of this somewhat global picture. everything first false the months and that's been hanging around the 4 corner states. what's been insulating us has been this low up in the northwest and provides on shore, wind and brings the fog in each morning too. and also to the south. all of that is the tropical traffic now, even if we get a nothing system, it's still that moisture that pops up here. this a problem that was the collection. everything

dave spahr given us a closer look today. hey, dave. >> hey, good morning.ing, everybody. and our fog is back again with the overcast skies as you can see in places like the coast and around the bay and the bridges and so forth deal of a lot of morning fog one on. we've had a very strong wind that's at work to we felt a little bit around the delta with those winds whipping in there in the teens or 2020's and approaching about 30 or so pushing that marine layer off and to the sacramento valley a little bit. all right. so we have some changes over about the next 48 hours as we advance to this entire program here. so we'll get a load of what we're talking about. what this here's the golden gate bridge for you. and again, a lot of fog. it's covering up the bridge. this will mix out will be left with a few scattered clouds. we're talking about shaving those temperatures just a little bit around the immediate pay temperature check. we've got some 60's off to the east bay are ready. but mostly it's a 50 story this morning. those winds again making note of that kind

dave spahr has got all the details for us. dave, it's warming up pretty quickly here. it good morning well, good morning, everybody. and a little bit that marine layer checked in with its pal, the fog and that help to give us some relief cooling this morning also of a coastal drizzle going onto, but temperatures will be soaring into the afternoon live shot to show the fog still in place. half moon, bay. >> it's going to stay like this all day. but just to start things off that fog clouds in the morning. also hovering around the golden gate bridge. but they pretty much maxed out elsewhere. so therefore we have excessive heat warning going on for you see the red a heat advisory for the oranges and it does include the south bay this go around now around the perimeter of the bay. you have relief and also the santa cruz mountains had that excessive heat warning to also up in the north bay got a lot of real estate covered by the excessive heat advisory temperatures again will be jumping up beyond 100 degrees and this will be with us through sunday afternoon although sunday w
