come from meteorologist dave spahr is here with the details on what's going on. hey, dave. >> you know, we have a collection of some rain occurring aloft, as you can see, mostly in the north bay. now it is but off to the east bay, a little bit of the contra costa county in a bid to san francisco. i say a lot because it has the fight to some dry air to actually make it to the ground amounts have been very, very modest with all of this going on. we have some clear patches trying to develop. we have to give up maybe an hour or so before we start to see some are just clearing some that is going take a while before everybody starts to see some clearing. here's what it looks like down in the south. a little shot from a san jose state. quite a bit of cloud cover hanging around there, although from the satellite picture, looks a lot more inviting. so variable clouds cover everybody. for now, 4 o'clock still got to keep some variable clouds kind of hanging around, partly cloudy and increasing sky conditions clearing out a little bit as we get to later this afternoon into t

so dave spahr with the forecast. dave, good morning, daryn. james, good morning.g, everybody. we're seeing some clouds to part a little bit in parts of the bay, but at half moon bay still kind of that overcast we have and the >> lower level moisture in the fog and all that kind of program. by the way, if you're headed up to the mountains for this weekend, looks pretty sweet. lower 80's right now they're dealing with rain again today. that will depart late in the afternoon and the evening as that moisture starts shoving off to the south and to the east a little bit. here's what it looks like right now. and you can see it right there about the foothills continuing to march towards the east. sometimes that does causal up sloping, though, and agains sparks off some shower and thundershower activity. meanwhile, the home front going to take care of that fog later today. rain showers continue to move towards the east tonight. nice and quiet. here's the morning. fog clears out nicely into the afternoon and looks pretty good up in the mountains. there may be a little stray

meteorologist dave spahr is standing taking a look at conditions right now. good afternoon there, noel and everybody. what does show up on our radar? this little patch here is not making anything to the ground, but it's associate with some cloud cover. you might have seen kind of traversing across a good chunk of the bay. >> early this afternoon making its way through southern marin and getting up there a little bit. and napa counties in solano county as well as contra costa county just on the edges. a little bit coming in from the bay. zooming out a little bit more. you'll see how clear it is to the south to the north. and we've been getting some sun here in san francisco in down to points of the southwest. what's somewhat contained as we go for putting all the motion this will traverse the bay through tonight. so looking for kind of variable clouds, the fog comes back again. but then tomorrow we're back to mostly sunny. it looks like and look at this job here. we're just talking to you at noon and had a lot of cloud cover going on, including that stratus. n

meteorologist dave spahr is here. he's got details on our air quality good afternoon. and this is the shot that we have started things off with what's going on around that fire up north and as no surprise, air quality is bad and a big patch of moderate, mostly green heading down the sacramento valley and into the bay area, although off to the far east bay looks like a little bit in the way of moderate hanging around. >> by the way, you saw that shot on the eastern side of the peninsula where touches the bay on the western side. yeah, we got a little cell going on here in this is drifting north. so you might see throughout the next couple of hours. some cloud cover going on, maybe around the golden gate bridge as well. maybe looking on the ominous the times. that may be some showers happening from that. that's something we'll be watching this afternoon. see what it does. it seems to be drifting towards the north with the weather pattern we have now in the forecast, we have increasing clouds entire bay area throughout the later latter afternoon. and we'll check into that

dave spahr is in the weather center with the very latest. od morning, dave. >> good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. live shot coming in from sfo. nice way to start the day to not much the way of fog at this report going on. so that's a nice shot there. winds look at this already com and we'll get a little bit of a breeze this afternoon. but not much of one. and we're not actually seeing the typical onshore wind here. it's kind of a little offshore, but talking to stay that way. but we will have the trend on shore, but it is going to be very weak. temperatures are mostly in the 50's over the board. you will notice here mid to upper 50's at that a kind of a warm 64 by comparison at the ballpark today. can the giants build on their game from yesterday? one 0, 5 game time upper 60's. we have mostly sunny on tap cool breeze winds 10 to 20 with that. so not as windy. and of course, the game is earlier today. so temperatures will feel a little warmer than that. but that's cold in relief if you're coming from the east bay dress, the part

kron meteorologist dave spahr is here. he's been traveling tracking unsettled weather this afternoon across the nation. dave young. well, all this green that you see on the board here, the severe prediction center and what they're talking about, his general thunderstorms, you see all the green going on. it's the middle summer shore. okay. >> with the darker green is there's that little bit of a chance that it could be perhaps marginally severe and the oranges which do cover. i'm sorry, the yellows, which to cover places like eastern kentucky. that means there's a slight chance of that could pop up severe as if they need more problems. so that's something else to look out for over the next 12 to 24 hours or so. you see the thunderstorms already active. took a nice little cluster down there from the gulf of mexico. back in the home front, we have some clear patches working on the east bay shoreline. it looks like a little bit to the south bay, but the higher elevations, you're going the upslope ing aided by daytime heating. t

we've got dave spahr with a look at that outside at james and darya. good morning. good morning.well here there's the east bay shoreline getting covered over as the fog. it's this little last moment here before the sun starts working its magic in the mixing process 50's up to the north bay. 57 in vallejo got 60's covering most of the east bay. but livermore donna, 58 them. but the cold air drainage and the livermore valley. 61 for san jose. so we're in the right spot between what's going on in the monsoon door far east of the 4 corner states, a little low that you really can't make out all. but that's okay. it's the one the mechanical work of shielding us from all of this, providing the nice coastal impact. what you see in the morning hours. but also in the afternoon, the winds start kicking up, really keep our temperatures controlled. 68 san francisco today. 72 going on for open 78 for san jose. delightful numbers going to keep this up for the next couple days. little bit of a warm-up in the middle of the week. check and area roadways right now. what's going on? they thank you.
