i know dave spahr has been tracking all this for us in the weather dave, what can we expect? good day to stephanie. take care of that morning fog. and we're off to mostly sunny skies. want to give you a quick tropical update. you know, you've been hearing about ian, it is now post tropical >> hurricane center is no longer tracking it, handing it over to local offices. so we're left with the carcass basically of the system. center circulation is kind of around north carolina. but most the weather associated with it is to the north and the east, as you will notice. so now it could be locally severe weather with daytime heating that gives the entered the atmosphere more energy along the appalachian you 10 appalachian chain. you tend to get a lot of ups loping from the mountain chain and that's a lot of rain or lean is the next thing to look at. it's down in the tropical pacific along the coast of mexico. it's projected to make a pass to the coast here. max winds of 65. so it's a tropical storm now it's expected to strike the mainland probably sometime in u.s. tomorrow as excuse

let's start by getting a look at the weather with dave spahr. good morning, dave.ind of overcast to get things started. our fog has kind of left it up for those overcast skies. there's a shot of a san jose state to give you kind of again. >> the overcast that will clear out, though, as we get to the afternoon hours, the tennessee, the winds being on shore, the kind of out of the southwest this go around there you see a little bit of an up cliff going on around the delta park in a straight a bit. and back to that fog again, its second little bit more reminiscent of post a rain event overnight. as you can see, that's more of the fog pattern. we tend to see a little bit. it comes back again. by tonight. as you can see, good coverage there up to the north bay kirk in a straight in off towards the delta that we're all so clear out for the afternoon. but the fog will mix out for those overcast skies we're experiencing now the temperature check are actually warmer than we were this time yesterday. lower 60's doesn't over most of the geography. there's the contrast for you

let's start by getting a look at the weather with dave spahr. good morning, dave. bay. not a lot of fog or cloud cover intrusion with all of that. >> the dry air temperatures fall overnight. minus the winds, too. so we saw them tumble into the 30's, whereas in some cases they're still hanging on in some locations to the up in the north bay. looking about 37 santa rose at this hour. 37 also from 45 48 rather. meanwhile, for san francisco in half moon bay started today off in the 30's, but they're now up to 43 with 50 to check in this hour for any oct pretty close to where we were this time from yesterday. so we're looking at kind of like tumble weekend going on here with the sunshine coming out. those temperatures getting up to the mid 70's and well inland tomorrow you might even scratch near about 80, but it's next week. we have winter coming in. that's right. rain. it looks like for a couple of days there in much colder temperatures. well, more of that coming up in just a bit. 70. thanks very much, dave. >> our top story this morning. new details are emerging abou

but let's start by getting a look at the weather with dave spahr. good morning, good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. and a quick look at what we've got going on right you can see some fog off to the foreground, but >> really that's going to be a bigger player tomorrow and for the entire bay area, extending well inland as well. we'll be showing you that coming up a little bit here. but this fog will start to clear over good chunk of the bay as we approach around noon. but getting into the afternoon, even in some spots along the coast in southern marin, it's going to be very problematic is going to be pesky. so let's go ahead to the fog cast. here's what it looks like at my high noon. however, you'll still see some scattered clouds lingering in southern marin across the san francisco. back again for tomorrow. looks like it clears out around noon, not really left with some fog clouds for good chunk of the bay going on. so you see a lot more cloud cover for tomorrow. give you a good feel of autumn like whether your temperatures this morning

let's start by getting a look at the weather with dave spahr. good morning, dave.almost iconic. we have a little bit of fog going on as we're talking about a little halloween and its ground fog as well. the sea of filling up the valley of where the bay is. >> not 3, particularly thick. as you can see, the blue skies aloft and that will be kind of hazy sunshine for our afternoon. so sticking with that part of the forecast, we do see again that mixes out pretty nicely by the midday hours with the hazy sunshine, mild on those temperatures, by the way, will be in the upper 70's for those in the valleys return effort tonight. not quite the same pattern we're seeing this morning. however, a little bit more sparse east bay shoreline. looks like it hit pretty good in a little bit across the quirkiness straight again. that will mix out fairly quickly. but variable clouds on your monday 50's off them on the board. for the most part, this still warmer than what we saw from yesterday by some dozen degrees ahead of where we were that time. there's this the change in the next we

well, let's actually check on the weather with dave spahr. with that and somebody shake for me to any yes, good morning, everybody. i get to in overcast skies to start things off. >> boy, that's a thick marine layer. we have to negotiate through east bay shoreline shot here. don't worry. this is not going to hang around all day. we'll keep it. some scattered clouds to the bay and along the coast. beyond that, opening up nicely to those blue skies to enjoy today. back to future cast for mixes out nicely. it's going to come back again for tomorrow. this is all kind of good because remember, this marine layer, you know, particularly at the surface, it bring some of that moisture in at night and helps kind of keep the moisture. it's still the surfa maybe a little breath of some offshore winds off towards the east briefly, but basically on shore is what we're looking through the day. 60's is pretty much on the board here. 60 ish will call its and carlos 59 62 for san jose. overcast skies happened overnight. you don't get a lot of temperature diver

we got dave spahr tracking it all for us in the weather center. starting to peel away as we can see from earlier shots around the embarcadero. a lot of inland temperatures popping in the 60's already with antioch at 71. but because of that fog around the bay, you can see in the 50's were all that green is 55 for bottles 60. meanwhile, 4 san jose. so a true to form our winds basically remain on shore for the next couple of days. but there is a front tuesday edition to tuesday night may provide a brief offshore wind, a pop into the middle of the week. something we like to watch that the around october like this for fleet week today. again, we want to make note of just a few scattered clouds, but mostly blue skies and blue planes in the air with some scattered clouds, temperatures, 66 or so in the ad that west wind at 10 to 15 even gusting. oh, hi or so. definitely need the jacket or perhaps the sweater along with that as well. we'll get more into this in the 4 zone forecast. an extended coming up in a bit. stephanie, thanks very much. dave. >> as po

but i know that dave spahr has the answers. heyday a good morning, stephanie.ng thing with fog and all well, in some ways it looks like it's trying to help clearing up conditions such as half moon bay at the coast. you're getting some the letter, a son going on to start things off this early. so, you know, sometimes of the front that that does help out a little bit in terms of the mixing process now is still left over some residual clouds even into the afternoon. just a touch kind of like leftover business at all. but then we're looking for us, which of those winds offshore later. this is what it is. it's a front. so initially it's on shore flips off shore from below and that brings with it really cold air. but it's dry. and that's what we're really concerned about coming in from the wrong direction. winds here they are on shore. you can see most of the day flipping now out of the northwest. so so that sweater on, even though the sun's out and get a decent amount of sunshine today, there's a nice pocket there. some strong offshore winds. you can see that really

dave spahr standing by in the weather center with the very latest.od morning, everybody. and that fog is checking in. as you can see, the shot of a trust me it's uc berkeley. so there's the east bay shoreline all covered up a bit. and even the shrubbery in the foreground as well. our temperature check for us. we're in the 50's across most of the board. 49 at the santa rosa. a lot of uniformity with temperatures with 60 for antioch and 59 this hour for san jose. there they are on shore. generally is the flow pattern that's going to stay in place through the week ahead. i don't see much the way the threat of an offshore wind this week get into early next week might be a little bit of a different story. i mean, the following week there, a look at what's going on. the forecast for the angels today. highs about 68. we'll call it partly cloudy of some scattered clouds left over some fog clouds here. and the only thing about clearing i'm a little concerned about not as dry above. so they're quite dry, but it's also warmer. and that just makes it hard for th
