dave zirin is sports editor for the nation host of the "edge of sport" and al jazeera sports contributor, and joins us. good to see you. you studied the olympics. including a recent book. about what you called the dance with the devil. and about boston you wrote a column saying hosting the olympics was a bit like getting hit by a car. the question is not whether the experience was positive or negative it's about assessing the scale of the damage. in your mind little doubt that in moston's case hosting the games is unaffordable. >> boston is unaffordable now, without the olympics. >> infrastructure is an issue now in boston without the olympics. >> issue of hypersecuritization, particularly after the boston marathon bombings. imagine what the olympics bring to the every day concerns of the people in boston. that's why the poll numbers were never able to move despite the fact that the boston 2024 people outspent forces by a 1,000:1 margin. they were never able to get over 50% of the city saying hey, the olympics are a good idea for the town. >> despite those concerns about boston's economy
