anderson, this is what donald trump wanted. he got georgia. >> certainly did. looking again to be yet another good night for donald trump. a lot of results to come in, davideah, but you know, the thing that interests me, we've just discussed virginia and how trump has won georgia. when you look at the difference between these states, it really is a difference in income and education. >> right. >> and georgia has more of the downscale vote. trump has done better there. rubio has been trying to appeal to upscale, highly educated voters, such as those you find in northern virginia. he apparently is in the hunt to win or come close to winning a state tonight. and that's the pattern that i think this race is going to follow. the thing is, i think trump has more broad appeal. and he can cut into rubio's vote. and the vote of cruz and others in a way that these guys are not cutting into. >> i think there was a thought in the rubio campaign that georgia could be a very good state for him. because he could appeal to the suburban voters, and atlanta voters, the voters outside of atlanta. and so i'm not sure they expected to win it. but i do think they expected to d

anderson, this could go on for a while. we're watching these numbers come in. >> this would be a big, big win for bernie sanders, if in fact he's able to pull it out. davidlrod? >> we said the key is can he cut into her african-american support and can he build on the strong support he's got in working class white communities. and looking inside these numbers, that's appears to be what's happening. she's not running the same kind of numbers in the african-american communities. it's still formidable but modest. her fire wall is buckling a little bit. >> why do you think that is in michigan? >> it's hard to say. michigan has been frustrate wau these racial issues. i don't know. i would defer to you guys, you were over there this weekend. >> she is winning 65% of african-americans, which is not as high as she's done in the south. and he is winning 57% of white voters, 73% of independent voters. of course younger voters, as we know, and the question about where she may be vulnerable is cares about people like me, which is important to bernie sanders and his coalition. he is ahead of her 57 to 39 at this point. >> and trust and honesty. >> these issues have b

anderson cooper will moderate. let's talk about what we can expect from tonight's presidential debate. joining us, the former obama administration official, dan jones. also our cnn democratic strategist, donna brazile. david chalon is with us and gloria borger our chief political analyst is with us as well. what does hillary clinton need to do on the stage behind us tonight? >> i think she needs to do no harm. she has to be a little bit careful here because she is starting to talk more general election messaging on her victory nights when these results come in and yet, she is keenly aware that she still has a primary contender to deal with. so i think what you will see is she probably won't jump to contrast with bernie sanders. but she's not going to let his contrast go by. you will see her respond when she has to. but listen, look at where we are. beth candidates will be eager to talk to the community here. that is going to be what they are so focused on. different kind of debate. in a very specific location and they are going to want to talk directly to the communities. >> this is a real crisis going on here in this community tonight. how important is this debate tonight for bernie sanders and his presi
