david begnaud is in biloxi, mississippi, where floodwaters are expected to rise.ter: good morning. this is the threat they have been warning about. it's been really the last 48 hours. another risk is the receiver. there was a 10-year-old boy in alabama who was on vacation. he died as he was playing near the water's edge. surf pushed a top of him and crushed that young boy. get this. over the last 24 hours there have been 60 tornado warnings. you might not think of tornados associated with tropical storms but they are common and they have happened from houston to florida. today we could see flash flooding in several different states from houston to memphis to pensacola. that's about 200,000 square miles that could see flash flooding. the flash floodinging is quick. it's in, it's out, you get an alert on your phone and it's gone. the good news is we could get a tropical depression. it will head east and continue its way up. >> david begnaud, thank you so much. >>> the husband care bill would scrap the mandate. affordble care act. the senate bill will not cut medicat

one ripped through an alabama town collapsing buildings and spreading debreechlt david begnaud is in hard-hit alabama with the latest there. david, good morning. >> reporter: this was an oil change location, a fast food restaurant here. there were a couple of businesses being senior vised when it touched down. in our weather coverage over the past few days, we told people there was a chance of tornadoes. what's rare is how strong this one was. get a look at this. as the tornado blew through here, it blew the roof off of the liquor store. buok they're still on the shelves as if untouched. tropical storm cindy is to blame for carving a path just outside birmingham. film showed the widespread damage. the tornado tore the roof off the building but left the bottles neatly stacked on the shelves. four people were injured. one drive escaped serious harm. >> i konked my head and started praying. when i lifted my head up and realized it had passed over, there was a wood stake through my windshield. >> reporter: the national weather service estimates 12 inches of rain fell along the gulf coast

david begnaud is in new orleans where the storm's impact is already being felt. morning. so the storm surge along lake pontchartrain is already causing flooding. this storm is moving a little faster than originally expected but the winds are also faster than originally thought. here's why. you're at 60 miles per hour, originally thought it would be somewhere around 45-mile-per-hour winds and the storm stalled last night and stayed stalled for quite a while. now it's starting to move. they're looking at the projected path towards southeast texas, maybe houston, gavp ston, or southwest louisiana. but the national weather service has made it clear forget about that cone, that path, and look toward the east, because some of the most severe rains could fall along the mississippi gulf coast, the alabama gulf coast, and into florida. already the governor of alabama has declared a state of emergency. had flashflood warnings over the last 12 hours in the mississippi area. this storm will not be a major wind event. it will be about rain and flooding and flashflooding. jeff,
