assemblyman david chiu says there are more than 6- thousand untested rape kits in california...and no clear information on how many are collected....and why some aren't tested. the kits contain d-n-a evidence from victims. opponents argue the reporting requirements would be too burdensome for police departments. (grant) employers can now legally pay women less than men for the same work... based on their previous salaries.. a federal appeals court announced the decision today.. the ninth u-s circuit court had overturned a lower-court ruling that said basing pay off ápriorá salary was discriminatory.. this ruling came from a lawsuit filed by a fresno school district employee back in 20-12.. the court panel says employers can use past salary information as long as it is within reason and as long as the business has a policy that justifys the pay.
