how about david chu, who is considering running for mayor, giving him nine months in office before he mayor? you have people like bevan dufty, david chiu, even john avalon's common john campos, and ross mirkarimi, all had indicated an interest. so you have people on the board who want to run for mayor. do they go for the caretaker mayor, or do they put those interests aside and best themselves with a politician that has a good chance of being elected? with that dilemma in front of them, we saw what happened. they could not put their egos aside. they generally would with the caretaker mayor. that person would pose no threat of running against them. >> when the board met next week on november 23, the clerk of the board proposed a process for nomination for mayor, which the board debated, amended, and eventually passed. >> a board member read the nominated may not produce pig in the discussion or vote on the competitor nominees. if the nominee of a board member nominee has been withdrawn, the board member may no longer have a conflict and could return to the room and to dissipate. >> bas

i know the board president david chu is working on possibility this there -- possibilities there. i look forward to working with him. we've targeted efforts to revitalize areas and bring industries here with the tax holiday and proposal introduced yesterday relating to parts of the tenderloin to provide some payroll tax relief to encourage businesses like twitter and others to go there. >> the governor has proposed eliminating funding for redevelopment agencies. what is your opinion of the plan? what are your thoughts on the value of redevelopment agencies? >> i think the plan is over- broad. i do not support it as it relates to san francisco's model of redevelopment. our redevelopment agency does tremendous work in san francisco. a lot of projects like treasure island and what is happening in hunters point, those kinds of projects would be difficult to achieve without redevelopment. a redevelopment agency is the largest source of affordable housing creation in the city. it has been a huge asset. i understand there are other parts of the state where redevelopment has a different m

every poll out has shown support for ed lee recent numbers for matching came out and seems like david chuaising money. >> he is also running for mayor and having trouble raising money. >> i have to believe this is due to people holding out thinking ed lee will jump in. >> to my next question ed lee, he is the guy not running seems to be over shadowing everybody who is running we have a 9 to 10 serious candidates no body is gaining traction. >> let me tell you on the question of money the reason there will be less traction so to speak because if ed lee is not running and all these activities surrounding him there will also be the announcement i suspect that he will not ask for one contribution he will not take one dollar of matching money because the budget is such that we need this money instead of going to politicians it should go to programs it will be devastating on the other guys and then finally, you can only give $1,500, three separate $500 contributions and it doesn't account for the guy running for let's say district attorney or the guy running for sheriff. >> living on how much p

i want to -- in cooperation, and also, of course, supervisor david chu has been talking about this forome time, asking our officers to take reconsideration of the cuts. so we've been working very closely with our director of the children, youth and family, and tonight we just want to announce that we are moving an additional $500,000 to the youth, summer youth program, and there will be 300 more slots made. we'll be able to divide that to make sure that chinatown gets enough slots for the summer youth program. you'll definitely have more. we're making those decisions as of today. you'll hear more details about it. there will definitely be more summer youth slots will aimed at both chinatown and all the other districts for the summer. >> mr. bonner, just in response to fees, the rec and park department does charge for special events. the rates actually for nonprofit organizations are 50% or half of what we would charge commercial organizations. over the last -- we actually haven't raised fees in a number of years, but what's happened is we've been gradually implementing some fee increas
