[ applause ] . what a great day. this is a tremendous day. a great day for the future health of san francisco. let me start by admitting no that you we are here, when we first started project i was not hugely optimistic that we are going to get here. i want to echo and appreciation for everyone who sat at the operating table to create this critical project. success has a lot of parents and let me first start by thanking my colleagues to what he referred to as the three amigos. i of course want to thank the many city staffers that brought us out today. i want to bring out the hundreds of folks but in particular thank you mr. mayor for working with us and in particular ken rich, you really get one

so i will supervisor david chu's legislation is -- did have its first reading? >> yes, it had it's first reading. >> , that is passed in the healthy food retailer incentive program supervisors are still working with it maybe coupling with tobacco legislation. we'll keep you advised and posted; the supervisors offices communicating with our office on what their thoughts are with that. the police and entertainment related permits are scheduled and land-use and one of the key things that is going to be added, amended this time around, the entertainment permits which you heard is to put some non-amplified street music sound controls. this is becoming an issue around market street, fourth street, around the cable cart turnaround. >> it is still out of control. >> there is no control for city officials to take any real direct action. so they are putting in some controls into the entertainment permit so that can be addressed. a and then perhaps maybe the only other item to make note of, is that the divisadero street, fillmore street ordinances are being continued. ther

[ applause ] . it's only been two-and-a-half years since the moment of conception of this idea. it's an amazing tribute to our community. it reached three levels of impossibility, of getting a permit and designing it and putting it on this structure and the impossibility of getting it funded. it really is a tribute to so many and a lot of faces that i'm looking at this room tonight. it comes down to as always people. i'm going through a few moments here to give a real thanks to people who made this night and the next two years possible. i'm going to list a couple of company names, but i want to think of them as members of our community that made this project possible. that included, bloomberg, guchie, it includes the partners, magazine, california home and design, magazine, aluminum illuminary sponsors and the folks to

david chu, in this city, we said here is the problem and he said that is terrible. he's a practicing lawyer and we went for the finances committee for 13 unlawful detainer actions had been moved because of the cuts in the budget done by our legislators. they have been moved out of the county to santa monica. 9 out of 10 who are defending trying to keep their house, 9 out of 10 have no lawyers. on the landlord's side, 9 out of 10 have lawyers. so after you drive all the way to santa monica and after you try to figure out what it is, what the real property laws is in california and what defenses you might have or what arguments you might have, you are faced with a trained lawyer and someone who has been to law school for 3 years, someone whose practiced for some period of time. what we need here to answer your question is a playwright. this is mccobb. this is weird. we are not on anyone's calendar to speak of. that for some of us, that's what makes it fun. >> thank you. jum.
