david culver is along the g.w. parkway in alexandria which is close to where this case started. what are the friends saying today? >> reporter: i can tell you, pat, i spoke with two of the throughout our phone call, a friend was in hysterics. this man went to high school with bijan and when he heard about the november 17th incident, he couldn't picture the bijan he knew of being part of it. police say he was part of a hit-and-run and then cthey chasd him and it ended with gunshots. his family says that bijan did not have a gun and got hit three times in the head. >> it's hard hearing when someone that you're close with in the past just goes like that. and especially under these circumstances because it shouldn't have happened like that where we are is along slater lane which is where the hit-and-run may have started and continued several miles into fairfax county. fairfax county police also responded to the incident and the chief putting out an incident saying that their officers did not open fire and they have turned over the dash cam video that was in their police cruisers to

david culver just stepped out of the courthouse. there he's checking in live. you have a copy of that arrest warrant what jumped out at you there? >> this is it here. i just got my hands on this warrant. this comes after she turned herself in to police yesterday. it happened around the afternoon time. we're told the actress and loudoun county. that's when the airport authority sent two detectives to leesburg to execute it officially. she was granted a $5,000 bond at that time as she met with the magistrate. she also took what is customary for anyone who is arrested, a booking photo this stems from a january 20th incident at dulles airport. that's when the airport authority says in this warrant that mcgowan, who was in town for the women's march, made her way on a united airlines flight and apparently, according to the warrant, left her wallet on the plane. dropped it where she was seated. towards the front of the plane. the warrant goes on to say a member of the cleaning crew actually discovered the wallet. inside she had her license, she had several credit car

david culver explains where the case goes from here. >> given the severity of this case and that thes facing charges in an unrelated case, felony charges at that out of nevada, the judge made it clear saying i do not want him out of jail, at least until trial. that trial is set for march. dane is accused of running a stop sign while driving his food truck back in september. that truck then crashed into another vehicle. it was a devastating scene. the attorney today in court put his wife on the stand. the suspect's wife taking the stand and testifying that if granted bond, she feels her hnd home. the prosecution laid out their case and brought forward evidence showcasing that in their opinion dane was negligent when it came to maintaining that food truck. that crash killed 39-year-old erin kaplan. four other people in that car, her kids and mom were in that vehicle and got injured. this case is set for three days of trial. jury expected to be a part of it. that will happen in march. back to you. >> david culver, thank you. >>> thousands of car owners are ignoring safety recall notices
