i also want to bring in stephanie ruhle and david drucker as well. monica, let's start with you at the white house. the meeting between president biden and the caucus there in the house. what do we know about what came from that meeting? >> reporter: the meeting lasted about an hour, craig, and we're getting our first sense of what the president did say to his own party in there. he said he wanted to speak from the heart. he used a phrase that he often does, talking about the significance and the urgency saying his administration really is at an inflection point right now. and essentially, he laid it all out on the line and said i don't think it would be hyperbole, these are the president's words, to say that whatever happens with these two critical votes will define not just what happens in next year's midterms but perhaps the entirety of his presidency. the president speaking in the clearest, most personal, most intense terms here about what he would like to see accomplished today. and the fact that the white house is getting out in front of this,
