from me, david eades, goodbye.inging back and forth across the uk like a pendulum. no two days are the same which is welcome news if you live in scotland where it was pretty miserable, hardly worth stepping outside. different across the midlands — beautiful blue skies as depicted from bournville. the showers spoilt the end of the day and the persistent rain has been across the far north and east, over an inch of rain in scotland. low pressure continues to move that rain across the northern isles and be replaced by another weather front pushing into the south—west bringing wet and windy weather. sandwiched in between some clear sky, a light frost possible but you should start the day with decent spells of sunshine. it is not expected to last, gale force gusts and rain across the south—west pushing away steadily north and east through the morning. the best of the sunshine is likely to beat in the extreme north, a scattering of showers in scotland but in comparison to today, batter. but in comparison to today, better.

from me, david eades, goodbye. good morning. saturday was a day of mixed fortunes.et for others. let's have a look at some of the weather watcher pictures that we have to illustrate the point. a pretty miserable day across parts of aberdeenshire. the rain relentless all day. further south, some lovely spring sunshine and warmth to go with it. highs of 13 degrees close to london. yes, it was beautiful here, but the rain continued with over an inch across parts of northern scotland and plenty of showers piling in around the low. as we go through sunday, the rain will clear into the northern isles and that will allow this weather front to push into the south—west. so, a change. looking at 9am in the morning, some sunny spells. a few showers across much of scotland, but on the whole an improving weather story. not bad into northern ireland and northern england as well. sunshine from the word go. we might see rain pushing into the southern fringes of the isle of man and across the north—west of england and wales, down through the midlands and into the south—east corner.

from me, david eades, goodbye. hello, good morning. brought a mixture of sunshine and showers, but we were very close to some severe and potentially damaging weather. just across the way, in brittany, a gust approaching 120 mph. that area of low pressure brought us some rain in the south—west and the channel islands, and is running away across europe rapidly now, to bring more some snow to the alps, take some wetter weather across italy and to the adriatic, potentially bringing some damaging mistral winds to south—east france, and gusty winds into sardinia and corsica. here at home, things are very much quiter. the winds quite light, actually, and a lot of the showers that we had earlier on are beginning to fade away. so we will see clearer skies developing, and it will be turning into quite a chilly night. ground frost, i think, in many places, and in the countryside there may be a pinch of air frost as well. so a chilly start to tuesday morning, but a dry and bright one for the most part. the showers along those north sea coasts tend
