now joining me is katy tur covering the trump campaign since the beginning and david farenthold who has spent months searching for personal donations from trump to his charity. let's set the stage and then bring in david. the medical report. he will, he won't. it will be very bare bones. it won't be a real history. what do you think is going on? >> i'm not sure what's going on. earlier in the week when i was talking to the campaign i was trying to find out more information, when did donald trump get his physical? they say last week tell me what day, where did he get it, what doctor did he get it from and when will you release the results and will it be more than just clholesterol and blood pressure. the response i got was last week and this week. he got a physical last week, no word who it was with and this week we'll get the results. now the campaign says you will get the results of it, more medical information, quote, soon. i'm not sure if that means this week or some nebulous date down the line. what we do know is he was supposed to go on dr. oz which he is taping right now, and talk

david farenthold from "the washington post" is joining us once again. jumping on. the statement coming from the trump campaign, let's go through some of what they put out yesterday. one of the things they point out is this is exactly what they say. in typical "washington post" fashion they have gotten their facts wrong, also saying the "post" reporting is peppered with inaccuracies and omissions. have they told you what facts they think you got wrong? >> no. before that story came out i sent them really detailed questions about basically everything in that story and got literally no response at all, not even an acknowledgment they had received the e-mail. then afterward, they put out that statement. i haven't actually seen any and i don't think any other reporter has either, any specific things they believe are wrong. if they have, i'm glad to see them. i'm glad to talk about them. i haven't actually seen one example. >> they haven't told you what the facts are although apparently they are all wrong. let's read another part of their statement. there was

joining me now, the reporter behind that story, david farenthold of the washington post.ald trump winds up -- or his foundation winds up giving this donation to pam bondi's political action committee. can you sort that out for us? >> it's very confusing. pam bondi solicits a donation from donald trump when she's considering whether or not to investigate trump university. trump pays that donation, $25,000 out of the donald j. trump foundation, which is an odd entity. it's a charity, contains almost no money from donald j. trump himself. you might think that it does, but it doesn't. trump pays that money out of the foundation, which it's not allowed to do. foundations can't make political gifts. then when he reports that year's activity to the irs, he leaves off the prohibited donation and sends the irs a listing of a false, non-existent donation to a group with a similar sounding name, to cover up the illegal donation. >> so there's this kansas charity with a name similar to the donald j. trump foundation. they say that is who gave the money to pam bondi? >> yes. pam bondi
