thanks, too, to david folkenflik from npr. company was... of all the weird and wonderful things that go big online, would you have maps at the top of your list? well, whether you do or you don't, we're going to talk about the map men. they're a pair of british comedians who've turned their interest in, or should we say passion for maps into a global phenomenon. and they have just won an award from tiktok for one of their videos. before we hear from jay foreman, one half of the map men, let's have a listen to the winning video. how many of those did you know, ros? uh, most. not all. i didn't know towcester. what is it, jay? towcester is actually pronounced "toaster". "toaster" ? i did not know that one. well, we didn't know it until we started doing the research for that video. the interesting thing was we put that video out originally on youtube. and, of course, because it's youtube, there were loads of comments appearing underneath in the comments section, and thankfully nobody said that we got any of the pronunciations wrong

david folkenflik, npr media reporter, sent it to me and he's like look at this. so is i think that's an opportunity if conservative outlets would do that and that would spread fact checks to a broader audience here. here are a couple of other ideas. i think we need to at how how how we can repackage fact checks in ways that might get them in front of people differently. here's an idea, and i don't think i'm the first one with this, but i, i, i rekindled idea the other day sitting in a sports bar. so how many of you have seen the show pardon? the interruption? anybody? okay. so pardon the interruption is a show on espn. two sportswriters, tony kornheiser, michael wilbon. kind of yuk it up over different stories, controversy, sports, and it's rapid. and there's a kind of a ticker and they through each one and they only have like 2 minutes for each one. and it's and they're funny and they argue. so what if we did pardon the interruption for fact checking and you had a conserve, but who's fact based and liberal and it was i'm not talking about crossfire. like, i mean

. >> npr's david folkenflik has one. yeah. >> i mean, look, i think that that is the key. and i think also seeing joni ernst there, she's going to be the crucial one. and she isn't normally one of those 4 or 5 handful of republican senators who tend to be swing votes on these things. i will say this, though there tends to be strength in numbers. they put together a couple nominees that might have, you know, a republican or two vote against with kash patel rfk, tulsi gabbard and others by having these different folks, it does divide the media scrutiny. but in the last 72 hours, you've seen it all kind of go towards hegseth. and then that's when it tends to move the needle. if someone else moves into that kind of position where they get they're getting that same sort of scrutiny that obviously helped texas get some votes. a little bit of attention off him. >> what do you make of it all including the desantis factor? >> well, i mean, you know, this might shock you, jake, but i actually have republican friends on the hill. and what does not shock me that i know because i look

. >> david folkenflik reported that a former colleague at fox told him that hegseth got, quote, handsy repeatedly while inebriated once even groping her bottom at a manhattan bar. obviously it's an anonymous allegation. we should note that folkenflik has been covering sexual assault and sexual harassment at fox for years. his track record on this is pretty good but but what is your response? >> and this is the pattern is that we have all these anonymous complaints where people are saying things they aren't giving any specifics, they don't have any corroboration whatsoever. and yet the people who were also there at the time are willing to come on the record by name, on camera and say this didn't happen. it's the same thing at cva it's the same thing at fox. it's the same thing at the veterans for freedom. every single one of these, you have a few anonymous people saying it. and yet the people who come on the record and say, this is my name, this never happened so you represented pete you've represented him for 8 or 9 years, i believe starting with the concerned veterans for america stuf
