trooper douglas balder is suing a prosecutor who drew heavy criticism in the david koschman murder case, has stepped down. an independent investigation concluded, darren o'brien improperly threw out the case against mayor daley's nephew, richard vanecko, after vanecko punched and killed koschman outside a bar on division street. last week, vanecko pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter. o'brien left the state's attorney's office in december, after 20 years there. a key figure in the rod blagojevich scandal is on his way to jail, for a completely separate crime. raghuveer nayak was convicted of bribing doctors to send their patients to his outpatient surgery centers. he got a two-year sentence. nayak was accused, but never charged, with offering to raise cash for governor blagojevich, if he appointed jesse jackson junior to the senate. julia mancuso won a bronze medal in women's super combined slalom. it's the fourth olympic medal of her career. no other u-s female alpine racer has more than two, including lindsey vonn. a concert violinist returned to a concert to violinist returned to

the f-b-i is reportedly taking a look at the david koschman case.he sun-times reports special prosecutor dan webb turned over his evidence to the feds last june. r-j vanecko ... a nephew of former mayor daley... pled guilty last month to throwing the punch that lead to koschman's death back in 2004. webb said he was unable to charge chicago police with breaking any law for botching the investigation. but he says some officers who were involved in the case may be under investigation for similar activities in other cases. the murder case against a suburban businessman may go to the jury by early next week. yesterday, a fourth woman, kathy rettke, testified she had an affair with allan kustok... and just a day after their first meeting, kustok's wife anita was found shot to death. prosecutors say kustok was a womanizer who wanted out of his marriage... and used an internet web site to meet women for discreet sex. the defense is challenging the way blood, gunpower residue, and other physical evidence against kustok was handled. testimony resumes this mo
