david: let me ask you one more question about the congressional response. we heard from senators lindsey graham and john mccain earlier saying, quote, "unlike the previous administration, president trump confronted a pivotal moment in syria and took action here he deserves the support of the american people. -- took action. he deserves theuprt of the american people." what else has congress set about these strikes yesterday? kevin: house speaker paul ryan also supporting president trump and their decisive action on syria. now, he has also received somewhat praise from senate minority leader chuck schumer as well as house minority leader nancy pelosi. while they are saying they hope he will visit congress to deliver a concrete plan on syria, they are also saying -- and this is important -- that the action was appropriate and measured for them to take. some lawmakers criticizing him within the democratic party and the tea party, but most democrats and virtually all republicans saying that the response was measured. david: thanks very much. that's kevin cirilli, bloomberg's chief washington
