abc7 news reporter david louie is live in san jose with this really frightening story all began. david? >> well, this very dramatic and violent story started right here at this house on reed street in san jose. the neighbors heard screams late last night as the father of the 2-year-old girl apparently grabbed the girl after stabbing the girl's mother. the father then drove 200 miles to the south before being spotted. >> they detained him until police got there and took him into custody and the girl is safe. >> that was the good news as alert patrons of a gas statio in cambria recognized the vehicle. as luck would have it, the kidnap suspect victor magana had locked the keys inside the vehicle. his 2-year-old daughter bethanie carraza was safe inside. bethanie became an apparent kidnap victim after her mother was stabbed outside her san jose home. neighbors became concerned around 10:00 p.m. sunday night. >> my roommate was saying she was yelling help, help, he is going to kill me. my roommate saw her hopping over the fence. >> they and paramedics found the mother slumped over the
