joining me right now is david mallory good to see you, david. >> i'm good, thank you. good to have you back on. are you surprised that sessions is jumping back in? >> a little bit, just because the race appeared to be set and with the trump factor, with trump saying he's going to campaign against him, i think it's definitely a gamble on his pa part. >> all the reporting is that he did not give trump a heads-up before this became known. it's impossible to know exactly what trump will say in reaction to it, considering the roller coaster relationship they've had all throughout. does the trump factor -- how much do you think it matters. jeff sessions has held that seat for 20 years. jeff sessions is on longtime senator, the attorney general before that he was a nominee before that he's well known and well looked he basically was the face of alabama republicans for almost 20 years, and he helped propel trump to the nomination, and thus to the presidency, so it's interesting to see how this will play out. i don't know if it would be the deciding factor, but i know it would
