tonight the four pilots who were in the cockpit flying the plane have talked to investigators and david muir is in san francisco with the latest word. once again, david. >> reporter: diane, good evening to you. we have learned from the ntsb after interviewing those pilots that not only was the pilot in training trying to land a 777 here in san francisco for the first time, the pilot who was training him was serving as an instructor for the first time. when that plane crash landed and the tail came off the back, two flight attendants were sucked out of the plane, ejected onto the runway. they survived it. we get a clearer view of what it's like to land a massive jet over the san francisco bay. tonight as the pilot in training is questioned by the ntsb a rare view from inside the cockpit of what it's like to land over the bay at san francisco's afrpt. seen in a video from youtube you can see through the cockpit window the ascend over the bay, much like the one we saw over the weekend when pilots are cleared for a visual approach. so many questions about flight 214. inside the cockpit the pilot

david muir, abc news, san francisco. >>> the ntsb just wrapped up its meeting with asiana flight crewate last night. >> our coverage continuing now live in san francisco with abc's tahman bradley. tahman, what direction is the ntsb heading in with this investigation? >> well, john, the ntsb says it is too early to determine whether or not human error caused this crash. but they are very much focusing in on the pilots. they want to know about the captain's experience. this was the first time he was landing a triple 7 here at this airport. they're also looking at pilot fatigue. trying to find out just how much rest these pilots had before this flight. they're also looking at the wreckage. going over each and every single one of the seats on board the flight. trying to see exactly how the seats held up during the crash. >> tahman, we are hearing so much about the heroes. because that's what david was just telling us about. what about the survivors and other people who helped rescue them? >> reporter: just remarkable stories of heroism that we are -- displayed in the moments after the cra

abc anchor david muir has been leading our coverage from san francisco and joins us again this morning. good morning, david. >> reporter: robin, good morning, again, from san francisco. and those images, really telling, showing the passengers racing to get off that jet. you can still see the wreckage right over my shoulder here just across the bay at the runway at the airport. we've also learned that the ntsb sat down with federal investigators and sitting down with the pilots including the pilot in training. they will do so again today. and among the questions they'll be asking them is why in the cockpit, they shut down computers and autopilot, 82 seconds before that crash landing. abc news has learned that overnight the ntsb had its first meeting with the pilots of flight 214, including that pilot in training, his first time trying to land a boeing 777 in san francisco. that word comes just as new images emerge, revealing the passengers and their frantic efforts to get out of the jet alive. you can see the chutes deploy and immediately the passengers racing down them. >> oh, my god.
