with rick williams, sara bloomquist, and meteorologist, david murphy. >>> it is a march nor'easter causing all kinds of problems from heavy wet snow in the western suburbs to flooding and wind at the jersey shore and a slippery mess in between. >> trees and powers lines are down in the region and the storm is not done yet. it's tuesday afternoon and the big story is a late winter blast from mother nature. as we look live from the queen village section we see a tree blocking 6th and carpenter streets. one of many issues people are dealing with at this hour. we have live coverage from the lehigh valley and the shore. now we go to meteorologist, david murphy. >> you see dry air coming up into the region and melting away the last of this snow. it's still snowing in northeast philadelphia but beginning to die down a bit. but in south philadelphia, and center city we were drying out. some of this out to the north and west with the area of low pressure to our latitude may be drawn back in to points to the south, but if it does happen it won't put much accumulation down. the worst of this appears

"action news" reporter, vernon odom, is live on the 2100 block of diamond street with the latest. >> reporter: sara, rick, good afternoon. the 2-year-old child is just upgraded to stable condition at saint christopher's hospital and the mother remains in critical condition. this is video at 2009 diamond street where the incident took place this morning. the mother and child plunged out of a second story window. it's unclear if the baby was thrown out first or they came out together. >> we don't foe if she was holding the baby or threw the baby out the window. it's under investigation at this time. >> reporter: police believe it's a classic 302 case, a mentally unstable person. police are told by the grandmother that the mother made threats like this as recent as . the mother remains in critical condition

david murphy will have the accuweather good morning. >> reporter: i'll tell you guys, traffic wise things have gone from bad to worse on the schuylkill expressway. let's start with what happened overnight. an accident on the ramp schuylkill expressway westbound to the boulevard extension northbound route 1 toward the twin bridges. action cam was on the scene of the crash, a three vehicle accident that sparked a vehicle fire. in the car that was in flames, people were trapped. mess of a situation, the ramp is blocked. you can see that live, crews remain on the scene. here's the problem, the extra problem they have been pacing outline westbound traffic they were forcing people off at montgomery, now looks like they will let the westbound traffic through again are the penndot trucks are leading the way, westbound schuylkill expressway past the boulevard route 1. it's been a slow go this morning. it does look like they will let the traffic continue west on the schuylkill expressway now, but now the ramble to the boulevard remains blocked. changing situation along 76 you're seeing a backlog co
